The EWC 2025 League of Legends will feature the best 12 teams in the world. The tournament will begin on July 16 and last until July 20. During that time, the team will compete at the STC Esports Arena in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
This competition’s format will consist of two phases: the Group Stage and the Playoffs. In the Group Stage, the 12 LoL teams will be divided into two GSL groups. All matches will be Bo1, and the top two from each group will advance to the Playoffs.
The LoL EWC 2025 Playoffs, which will have a single-elimination bracket, will be held from July 18 until the 20th. We will see 8 teams, 4 of which are High Seeds (the top 4 from MSI 2025), whereas the other 4 are those who qualified from the Group Stage.
All matches will be in Bo3, but the final will be in Bo5. As with any big LoL event recently, this one will be in the Fearless Draft format. As for the patch, the games will be held on the 25.13 LoL patch.

Teams & Favorites
As mentioned, the EWC 2025 League of Legends will include 12 teams, so here are all the participants we can see in action:
- T1
- Gen.G Esports
- AG.AL
- Bilibili Gaming
- FURIA
- Cloud9
- FlyQuest
- Hanwha Life Esports
- KOI
- G2 Esports
- CTBC Flying Oyster
- GAM Esports
We can clearly see that the tournament will include the best of the best. Having said that, some teams here seem to have better chances of winning, so let’s go through the potential list of favorites.
T1
It is no surprise that the legendary T1 squad is one of the favorites at the Esports World Cup 2025. The team is doing well at the MSI 2025 and has excellent chances of winning the competition. The roster also has many years of experience playing on the big stage, so it will be one of the squads that people will pay close attention to.
Don’t forget that T1 is also the EWC 2024 Champion, so the team will try to do the impossible and win the event again.
Gen.G Esports
The next team that LoL fans should pay close attention to at the EWC 2025 is Gen.G Esports. Like T1, the team had good results at MSI 2025 and seems to be doing well right now.
The Korean powerhouse has been on the rise for some time now, so we are confident that it has real chances of winning. With that said, it will be very interesting to see the clash between Gen.G and T1, the two leading Korean LoL teams. In the recent clash between the two at MSI, Gen.G defeated T1 in Round 4.
Bilibili Gaming
Although the Koreans may be the big favorites at the LoL Esports World Cup 2025, Bilibili Gaming also deserves to be here. The Chinese team has proven it is among the best, and its MSI 2025 results back it up. Who knows, we may see Bilibili Gaming win one of the most important LoL competitions in 2025.
AG.AL
Lastly, we have AG.AL, a Chinese squad that has a mixture of South Koreans and Chinese LoL superstars. Following the impressive performance at the LPL 2025 Split 2, the team is slowly making a name for itself. AG.AL also did well at MSI 2025, which means it has good chances of succeeding here.
Closing Thoughts
Even though the Esports World Cup 2025 League of Legends may not seem as prestigious as Worlds 2025, it’s definitely worth watching. LoL fans worldwide will have the chance to see the best in action just a few days after MSI ends. We expect an epic battle and will keep you updated with everything, so don’t forget to follow Blix.gg.
