July is slowly coming to an end, meaning we are days away from LEC 2025 Summer. The League of Legends EMEA Championship 2025 Summer will be the 17th edition of the European LoL split, and it starts just a few days after the LTA South & North Split 3. It’s interesting to learn more about the event, so let’s dive in and see what it offers.
LEC 2025 Summer Overview
As mentioned, this will be the 17th edition of the EU LoL split, and the event will take place in Berlin and Madrid. The tournament will begin on August 2 and last until September 28. During that time, we will have 10 teams in total that will compete for a prize pool of around $93,000.
In addition, players compete for three slots in Worlds 2025, which will be League of Legends’s most important event and take place later in the year.
Format
The 2025 LEC Summer will have a group stage and playoffs. Two groups of five teams will play in a Farless Draft Bo3 format. Each squad will play four matches, and the top four teams from each group will advance to the Playoffs.
Those who finish in the first 2 places will receive a slot in the Upper Bracket, whereas the other 2 will go to the Lower Bracket. As soon as the playoffs arrive, we will have a double-elimination bracket with Bo5 Farless Draft matches. Once the competition is over, the top 3 LoL teams will receive a slot for the 2025 Worlds Championship.
The Participating Teams
After learning more about LEC 2025 Summer and what to expect, it is time to take a look at the participating teams. There will be 10 of them in total as follows:

Aside from G2 Esports, we can also add KOI to the list. Even though the team lost in the quarterfinals against T1, it proved that it is in excellent form and can challenge some of the best in the world.
