Following an announcement from Riot Games, we’ve learned that Natus Vincere will be LEC’s newest team after taking Rogue’s slot. The Spring Finalists are gearing up for the upcoming MSI in Canada, but there’s an interesting change in EMEA. NAVI decided to acquire Rogue’s slot in the league and will take part in the 2025 LEC Summer Split.
NAVI in LEC
Esports fans worldwide know that NAVI is one of the most prominent organizations. The team has been around since 2009 and is a force to be reckoned with in Counter-Strike and Dota 2. The organization is also present in VALORANT and even took part in the VALORANT Champions Tour EMEA.
Aside from VALORANT, Na’Vi will also compete in League of Legends. The organization will take Rogue’s slot, a team that has existed since 2019. In Riot’s statement, the organization thanks Rogue for their efforts and says that they “showed incredible determination, qualifying for three consecutive World Championships.” Moreover, the team secured an LEC title before their third international trip in 2022.
Based on our information, all of Rogue’s players, analysts, and even coaches have been transferred to NAVI. That said, the organization will most likely need some time to build a strong roster that will compete in the upcoming Summer Split.
Questions and Answers
Many of you are probably wondering why these changes are happening now instead of after the season. According to Riot, NAVI is a well-established Esports organization, and the company is confident that the team has what it takes to be ready for the Summer Split. Moreover, the timing was good for NAVI because it allowed the team to have enough time to prepare for the upcoming events.
The process of a team leaving LEC is a lot more interesting than it seems. According to Riot, when a given team wants to exit the league, it has to wait for serious offers from potential buyers. Once that happens, Riot has to review the potential purchasing organization and make sure that everything is okay.
LEC also reviews the prospective team and checks various things. Once the team passes the review, the transaction can proceed. NAVI was one of the organizations that wanted to be a part of LEC, and since the organization met all requirements, the transaction took place. We can’t wait to see one of the oldest names in EEU in action.
