Han “Peanut” Wang-ho announced that he will be leaving the professional League of Legends scene very soon. Hanwha Life Esports’s jungler has been one of the main driving forces behind the team, but he will part ways with it.
Peanut to Leave Hanwha Life Esports and League of Legends
LoL fans worldwide will be sad to know that Worlds 2025 will be Peanut’s last big League of Legends tournament. He and his team are on their way to the LCK Grand Final, but the player announced that he will be stepping down from professional play in 2025.
The reason why Peanut won’t be able to continue playing is because of his mandatory military service in South Korea. This is not new because many other professional LoL players had to go through these steps. However, there have been exceptions because players like Lee “Faker” Sang-hyeok were exempt because the team won the Asian Games.
Peanut has been postponing his military service for some time now but it seems like 2026 is when he will have to go.
Peanut’s Career in League of Legends
It’s safe to say that Peanut is one of the most popular junglers in professional League of Legends. He became a part of SKT T1 in 2016 after the organization noticed he has something special. After joining, he and his new team won the Mid-Season Invitational and the 2017 Spring Split.
Aside from playing for T1, Peanut was also alongside Faker during the Asian Games in 2018, but South Korea failed to defeat China. He was also part of teams like Gen. G, LGD Gaming, and Kingzone DragonX.
Hanwha Life Esports is Peanut’s latest adventure because he joined in 2024. Even though the squad was the underdog back then, his arrival helped it win the LCK Summer Split. 2025 has not been the best for the team, but it managed to qualify for Worlds 2025, so it will be interesting to see it in action.
