Sentinels, the American Esports organisation, announced that it will join League of Legends with its new roster and will take part in the LCS in 2026. The organization will start recruiting players and coaches very soon, so we expect to learn more about everything in the next couple of months.
Sentinels to Join the LCS 2026
As you already know, Riot decided to bring back the LCS after disbanding it in 2024. The company tried to make things more interesting by creating the LTA, which merged NA and SA, and it worked, but only up to a point. Fans were not happy with the changes, so Riot decided to bring the LCS for North America and the CBLOL for Brazil.
A few weeks after these changes were announced, Sentines revealed that the organization will join the LCS in 2026. An interesting fact is that Sentinels already have a long-standing partnership with Riot Games because the organization competes in Valorant. In fact, it has won different titles, such as the VALORANT Masters Reykjavik 2021 and the VALORANT Masters Madrid 2024.
Following this announcement, LCS 2026 will have the following teams (for now):
- Sentinels
- Cloud9
- Dignitas
- FlyQuest
- LYON
- Disguised
- Shopify Rebellion
- Team Liquid
If Sentinels join the LCS, they will replace 100 Thieves. As you know, the American organization announced it will no longer compete in League of Legends, so someone had to take its slot.
Worlds 2025
There is no arguing that fans will be eager to watch the new LCS in action, but before that, League of Legends fans have to focus on Worlds 2025. The competition starts today and we will have almost a month of epic action. We expect to see all amazing clashes and results, so don’t forget to follow us for more details.
The action kicks off with a match between T1 and Invictus Gaming. This will be a deathmatch because only one of the two teams will advance to the Swiss Stage, which starts very soon.
