One of the first big roster changes after Worlds 2025 just arrived because Dplus KIA announced they are welcoming Shin “Smash” Geum-jae into their roster. This move is impressive because it will be Smash’s first new LCK team after T1, where he spent more than 5 years.
Smash Joins Dplus KIA
If you’re a fan of the Korean player, you will probably remember that he first became popular in the LCK CL. He was one of the most intriguing botlaners and played alongside Martin “Rekkles” Larsson. Although he was not a part of T1’s main roster, the player had some matches in the LCK because he had to stand-in for some of his teammates. Sadly, even this was not enough to earn him a spot in the team’s main roster.
It seems like Smash did not like that because he made a move from T1 to DK. It seems like the South Korean player will play alongside Oh “Career” Hyoeng-seon in the bot lane. This was the last piece of the puzzle for the new team.
Smash has proven that he can compete in the LCK, but he definitely has to prove himself on the big stage. As we all know, the LCK is the strongest League of Legends region in the world and T1 has proved it again by winning yet another Worlds competition.
Career Also Joined the Team
Smash will be one of the youngest players in the LCK, as he is currently 19 years old. Alongside him, Dplus also added Oh “Career” Hyung-suk. The latter was a part of FEARX Youth, a team that he played for 1 year. He will be the new support.
Career is a 21-year-old support who has more experience than Smash because he has played for more teams. His career began in 2021, but this will be his biggest challenge yet.
It’s safe to say that we expect to see an epic season in the LCK in 2026. Make sure to follow us for more details.
