Dota 2 fans are discussing a poster found on the web, which confirms earlier rumors about the Lima Major being held in the capital of Peru.
According to the poster, the tournament will take place at Arena 1, the entertainment center capable of hosting more than 23,000 attendees.
Most sources believe that Peru will host the first major, which is scheduled for late February – early March. However, there is information that the Lima Major may also take place following the results of the DPC Tour 2, during the break of April and May.
The holding of the tournament in Peru may be threatened by current events. Currently, the South American country is going through a political crisis. Peruvian President Pedro Castillo announced the dissolution of parliament while the country’s parliament announced the impeachment of the head of state.
On December 7, Castillo was detained by the police. Massive protests are now taking place in the country, marred by human deaths. According to local authorities, at least seven people have died. Hundreds of protesters have been injured, traumatized or poisoned by tear gas, according to social media reports. The local police also suffered, six police personnel were abducted and 120 were injured.
