According to sources close to BLIX, Riot has been studying the application of a salary cap. This step would closely follow other leagues, such as the LPL (Chinese League) and the LCK (Korean League), and other European regional leagues, such as the Spanish League.
According to close sources, teams could spend a maximum of 2 million annually. In case of exceeding this 2 million, any amount in excess will have a luxury tax, which is expected to be 50% of the amount exceeded. This luxury tax will be used and distributed among the teams in the league, the LEC, and the regional tier 2 leagues.
