    Patch 6.0b Changes

WILD RIFT 6.0B PATCH NOTES BREAKDOWN
Since Patch 5.0, Wild Rift has undergone significant changes…
...especially with Patch 6.0 in early January 2025. The map received a visual overhaul, introducing the magical Bundle City and new features like Magical Mushrooms under towers, offering gold, and Portals for enhanced mobility. Creatures like the reworked Baron Nashor, now a glowing purple guitar, and the Rift Herald, which splits into musical instruments, added new dynamics. The champion pool expanded with Rumble, Gnar, and Poppy, while Corki received a rework, enhancing his Missile Barrage. A chaotic new Unbound Frenzy game mode was also introduced, along with updates to the support system, where players can designate a "Best Partner" for gold-sharing bonuses. New items like Kaenic Rookern and Yordle Trap expanded strategies, while Cleanse, a new summoner spell, counters debuffs like Ignite. Champion balance changes were also rolled out, adjusting champions like Urgot, Riven, and Camille. The update also brought new skins, including themed collections like Celestial Embroidery and Dragonmancer, and events like Chinese New Year and Valentine's Day, alongside the quirky April Fools Yordle transformation. Patch 6.0 reshapes the Wild Rift experience with fresh mechanics, champions, and seasonal content, making it an exciting time for players.

    Yasuo (Mid Lane)

    Yasuo

    Why Yasuo is in S-Tier:

    • Insane Mobility: Yasuo’s passive Way of the Wanderer grants him critical strike chance and increased mobility, allowing for great outplay potential.
    • Shield Breaker: His ultimate, Last Breath, is a game-changer when used with other knock-up abilities, instantly dealing massive damage to multiple enemies.
    • High Skill Cap: Yasuo is good in the right hands—his Steel Tempest (Q) and Sweeping Blade (E) let him move around the map quickly and dish out severe damage.

    Skill Order:

    Q > E > W (Max Q for damage and E for mobility)

    Runes:

    • Conqueror (for scaling damage)
    • Brutal (early game damage boost)
    • Coup de Grace (for better execution potential)
    • Legend: Alacrity (for attack speed scaling)
    • Bone Plating (survivability in lane)

    Hints:

    • Stack Q and Dash
Master Yasuo’s Steel Tempest combos (Q) and Sweeping Blade (E) for quick dashes and damage. Always keep an eye out for team knock-ups (from allies) to land a big Last Breath.
    • Map Awareness
Yasuo’s mobility and wind wall can make him a great roaming threat. Always be ready to help other lanes with Sweeping Blade for quick rotations.
    • Wind Wall Timing
A well-timed Wind Wall (W) can completely negate projectile attacks from the enemy, especially during teamfights or against marksman champions.

    Riven (Solo Lane)

    Riven

    Why Riven is in S-Tier:

    • Insane Outplay Potential: Riven can dash constantly with her Ki Burst (W) and Valor (E), making her highly slippery and difficult to lock down.
    • High Burst Damage: With Broken Wings (Q), Riven can unleash huge damage in combos.
    • Scaling and Mobility: Riven scales well into the late game and is highly mobile, making her a powerhouse in split-pushing and teamfights.

    Skill Order:

    Q > E > W (Max Q for damage)

    Runes:

    • Conqueror (for scaling damage)
    • Brutal (early game damage boost)
    • Last Stand (for more damage when low HP)
    • Legend: Alacrity (for attack speed scaling)
    • Second Wind (for sustain in lane)

    Hints:

    • Combo Mastery
Get used to combining Broken Wings (Q), Ki Burst (W), and Valor (E) in quick succession. Practice the combos to make Riven feel like a fluid, continuous movement.
    • Positioning
With her dashes and knock-ups, always look for opportunities to break into the enemy backline, especially when they don’t have escape options.
    • Ultimate Timing
Riven’s The Blade of the Exile (R) gives her a massive power boost. Always use it at the start of a fight for an instant power spike.

    Zed (Mid Lane)

    Zed

    Why Zed is in S-Tier:

    • High Burst Damage: Zed’s kit allows for devastating combos that can delete squishy carries instantly. His Living Shadow (W) lets him maneuver into the perfect spot for surprise attacks.
    • Escape/Engage Tool: His Shadow Slash (E) and Living Shadow (W) let him engage and escape quickly.
    • Excellent Scaling: Zed scales well into the late game, consistently dealing top-tier damage as the game progresses.

    Skill Order:

    Q > E > W (Max Q for poke damage)

    Runes:

    • Conqueror (for sustained damage in teamfights)
    • Brutal (for early lane damage)
    • Sudden Impact (for extra lethality after using W)
    • Eyeball Collector (for extra damage)
    • Overgrowth (for extra sustain)

    Hints:

    • Shadow Play
Use Living Shadow (W) both offensively and defensively to outmaneuver enemies and confuse them.
    • Ultimate Timing
Zed’s Death Mark (R) should be used strategically to burst down a squishy target, but be mindful of when to engage to avoid being caught.
    • Manage Energy Wisely
      Landing both Qs
(from Zed and his shadow) refunds energy. Avoid spamming skills—mismanaging energy can leave you helpless in fights.

    Kha’Zix (Jungle)

    Kha’zix

    Why Kha’Zix is in S-Tier:

    • Isolation Damage: Kha’Zix significantly damages isolated targets, making him deadly in 1v1 situations.
    • Evolve Skills: His Evolution mechanic lets him adapt to different team needs and situations.
    • Stealth and Mobility: Kha’Zix’s Void Assault (R) makes him an effective assassin, diving into the enemy backline with the ability to

    Skill Order:

    Q > W > E (Max Q for damage)

    Runes:

    • First Strike (for increased early gold and burst potential)
    • Sudden Impact (extra lethality)
    • Eyeball Collector (more damage potential)
    • Ravenous Hunter (for healing)
    • Overgrowth (extra sustain)

    Hints:

    • Use Stealth
Void Assault (R) isn’t just for escaping—use it to engage from unexpected angles and reset after kills to stay elusive.Summoner Spells: Flash, Smite
    • Isolate Your Targets
Always try to engage isolated targets for massive damage with Taste Their Fear (Q).
    • Evolve Smartly
Choose the correct evolution based on the game state. W evolution for extra damage or R evolution for more mobility.

    Samira (Duo Lane)

    Samira

    Why Samira is in S-Tier:

    • High Damage Combo: Samira thrives in duo lane due to her Flair (passive) and ability to stack up quick combos.
    • Engage and Escape: Her Inferno Trigger (R) is a game-changer in fights, while Wild Rush (E) lets her dash in and out of combat.
    • Scaling Potential: Samira is strong early and scales well into the late game, making her a carry in the bot lane.

    Skill Order:

    Q > E > W (Max Q for damage)

    Runes:

    • Conqueror (for sustained damage)
    • Brutal (early game damage boost)
    • Last Stand (for more damage when low HP)
    • Legend: Bloodline (for lifesteal)
    • Bone Plating (sustain)

    Hints:

    • Maximize Combos
Use Wild Rush (E) to dash through enemies and trigger her Flair (Passive) for quick S-rank stacks, unlocking Inferno Trigger (R) faster.
    • Keep Attacking to Extend Passive Buffs
Wild Rush (E) resets on kills and assists, so always look for low-HP targets to dash through and clean up fights. Properly chaining resets allows Samira to hard-carry teamfights.
    • Positioning is Everything
Inferno Trigger (R) is interrupted by CC, so wait for enemies to use their stuns/knock-ups before engaging. Position yourself just behind your frontline until you see a good opportunity.

    Vi (Jungle)

    Vi

    Why Vi is in S-Tier:

    • Strong Early-Game Ganks: Vi’s Vault Breaker (Q) is a powerful engage tool.
    • Teamfight Lockdown: Assault and Battery (R) lets her target and eliminate enemy carries.
    • Tanky and High Damage: Vi’s mix of tankiness and damage makes her an excellent frontline jungler.

    Skill Order (Maxing):

    Q > E > W (Max Q for engage power)

    Runes:

    • Conqueror (for dueling)
    • Triumph (healing on kills)
    • Coup de Grace (extra execution damage)
    • Legend: Alacrity (attack speed)
    • Overgrowth (extra sustain)

    Hints:

    • Gank Early
Look for early ganks before Level 5.
    • Save Ultimate for Priority Targets
Assault and Battery (R) should be used on enemy ADCs or mages.
    • Chain CC with Your Team
Follow up ally CC with Vault Breaker (Q) for easy kills.

    Jax (Solo Lane / Jungle)

    Jax

    Why Jax is in S-Tier:

    • Unmatched Late-Game Scaling: Jax becomes nearly unstoppable in 1v1s and team fights once he gets his core items.
    • Tower Destroyer: He can split-push effectively and take down turrets faster than most champions.
    • Dueling Power: Counter Strike (E) allows Jax to dodge basic attacks, making him a strong pick against AD-heavy comps.
    • Situational: Guardian Angel (for late-game fights)

    Skill Order (Maxing):

    W > E > Q (Max W for damage)

    Runes:

    • Grasp of the Undying (sustain and tankiness)
    • Brutal (extra early-game damage)
    • Last Stand (bonus damage when low HP)
    • Legend: Alacrity (attack speed scaling)
    • Second Wind (extra sustain in lane)

    Hints:

    Play Safe Early
Jax is weak pre-Level 5. Focus on farming and avoid early duels unless the enemy misplays.

    Look for 1v1s Mid-Late Game
Jax is nearly unbeatable in isolated fights. Use Counter Strike (E) wisely to dodge key attacks.

    Split Push Effectively
When the enemy team groups up, pressure a side lane to force a response.

    Gwen (Solo Lane / Jungle)

    Gwen

    Why Gwen is in S-Tier:

    • Sustained True Damage: Snip, Snip! (Q) deals a mix of physical, magic, and true damage, allowing Gwen to melt tanks and carries alike.
    • Survivability in Fights: Hallowed Mist (W) blocks projectiles, making her extremely hard to kill in ranged matchups.
    • Scaling Power: Gwen gets stronger the longer the game goes, excelling in extended fights.

    Skill Order (Maxing):

    Q > E > W (Max Q for damage)

    Runes:

    • Conqueror (for healing and scaling damage)
    • Brutal (extra damage)
    • Last Stand (for executing targets)
    • Legend: Alacrity (attack speed boost)
    • Second Wind (for lane sustain)

    Hints:

    • Use W Correctly
Hallowed Mist (W) is your best tool against ranged champions—save it for enemy burst or CC.
    • Maximize True Damage
Always get full stacks on Snip Snip! (Q) before using it to deal the most damage.
    • Stick to Fights
Gwen thrives in prolonged fights—use Skip ‘n Slash (E) to stick to enemies and keep dealing damage.

Vladimir (Solo Lane / Mid Lane)

    Vladimir

    Why Vladimir is in S-Tier:

    • Sustained Healing and Scaling: Vladimir becomes a late-game powerhouse, healing through damage while outputting a massive burst.
    • Survivability: Sanguine Pool (W) lets him dodge key abilities and escape ganks.
    • AOE Burst: His Hemoplague (R) is devastating in team fights.

    Skill Order (Maxing):

    Q > E > W (Max Q for sustain and poke)

    Runes:

    • Phase Rush (mobility)
    • Sweet Tooth (extra sustain)
    • Transcendence (CDR scaling)
    • Nimbus Cloak (extra movement speed)
    • Bone Plating (extra survivability)

    Hints:

    • Play Passive Early
Vladimir is weak early—focus on farming and poking with Transfusion (Q).
    • Use W to Dodge Key Abilities
Sanguine Pool (W) lets you dodge crowd control and heavy burst attacks.
    • Time Your Ultimate Well
Hemoplague (R) amplifies damage, so make sure to use it before your full combo.

    Pyke (Support / Assassin)

    Pyke

    Why Pyke is in S-Tier:

    • Hybrid Playstyle: Unlike traditional supports, Pyke acts as a damage dealer and pick-maker, excelling at roaming and creating opportunities.
    • Execute Potential: His Death From Below (R) executes enemies under a threshold, providing resets and bonus gold for teammates.
    • Mobility and Stealth: Ghostwater Dive (W) gives Pyke stealth and movement speed, letting him reposition and roam freely.

    Skill Order (Maxing):

    Q > E > W (Max Q for damage and engage potential)

    Runes:

    • Electrocute (for burst damage)
    • Sudden Impact (synergizes with his dashes)
    • Cheap Shot (extra damage on CC’d targets)
    • Eyeball Collector (for extra lethality)
    • Bone Plating (reduces burst damage taken)

    Hints:

    • Be a Roaming Threat
Pyke shines in mid-game when roaming. Use Ghostwater Dive (W) to sneak into other lanes for surprise hooks.
    • Execute Properly
Always check enemy HP before using Death From Below (R) to secure resets and team gold.
    • Use Q-W Combo
Charge Bone Skewer (Q) from stealth for surprise picks and engage plays.

    FAQ

What should I do if my leading champion was nerfed or dropped in the tier list?

Patch 6.0b introduced a visual map overhaul, bringing Bundle City with Magical Mushrooms that provide gold and Portals for faster rotations. Baron Nashor and Rift Herald were also reworked with unique mechanics. New champions Rumble, Gnar, and Poppy joined the game, while Corki received a rework. A new game mode called Unbound Frenzy was introduced, and support mechanics were updated to reward coordinated play. There were also balance changes to champions like Urgot, Riven, and Camille, alongside new items like Kaenic Rookern and Yordle Trap, and the addition of Cleanse as a summoner spell.

How has the tier list changed from Patch 5.0 to Patch 6.0b?

The meta has shifted, with some champions rising and others falling. Pantheon and Urgot dropped in effectiveness, while Sett and Aatrox gained popularity. Newcomers like Ambessa and Wukong have emerged as top-tier picks. The S-Tier champions remain strong, but balance changes have adjusted their power levels. Zed, Kha’Zix, and RiHow has the tier list changed from Patch 5.0 to Patch 6.0b?

What impact did new items and the summoner spell Cleanse have on the game?

New items like Kaenic Rookern provided tanks with a magic shield, making them more resistant to AP-heavy team compositions. Yordle Trap introduced a new mechanic that enhances crowd control and mobility. Now available as a summoner spell, Cleanse became a game-changer, allowing champions to remove Ignite, stuns, and other crowd control effects, giving more counterplay options, especially for ADCs and mid-laners.

Why are certain champions like Yasuo, Riven, and Zed still S-Tier?

These champions remain S-Tier because they excel in mobility, outplay potential, and consistent damage output. Yasuo thrives due to his Wind Wall negating key abilities, while Riven’s early-game buffs improved her laning phase and jungle presence. Zed remains dominant because of his assassination potential and lane control. Despite balance tweaks, their high skill ceilings and ability to snowball games keep them at the top.

What should I do if my leading champion was nerfed or dropped in the tier list?

If your champion has been nerfed, check the patch notes to understand the exact changes. Some nerfs are minor and don’t affect the champion’s viability significantly. If the nerf dramatically weakens their win rate, consider switching to a similar playstyle champion from the same role (e.g., if Camille was nerfed, try Sett or Aatrox). Also, adapt your build and playstyle—sometimes, itemization changes can offset nerfs and keep a champion viable.
