First Stand has ended with Hanwha Life Esports lifting their first international trophy after the first international League of Legends event in 2025. While Split 2 of the highest-level League of Legends circuit won’t start until the end of March, the fans’ sights are already on the next big tournament: the Mid-Season Invitational.

We knew since the 2024 World Championship that the next MSI will be held in North America, more specifically Canada, but Riot Games has just revealed the venue for it: the 2025 event will be held in the Pacific Coliseum in Vancouver, British Columbia.
MSI 2025 Venue
The Mid-Season Invitational will be held in the home of the Vancouver Giants hockey team, which will be the second time an esports event will take place there. In 2017, the LCS Spring Finals were organized here, where TSM beat Cloud9 in a nail-biter of a Bo5.
MSI 2025 Format and Schedule
The 2025 MSI will feature two teams from the five big regions, so the LTA, the LEC, the LPL, the LCK and the LCP – which is doubled from First Stand. Since Hanwha Life Esports won the previous international event, the two qualifying Korean teams will skip the Play-In Stage, but the second seeds of all the other leagues will have to go through the “qualifiers”. However, the first seeds of Spring will automatically gain a spot in the Main Event, which will feature a double elimination bracket.
The date of this year’s Mid-Season Invitational has also been revealed, the teams will battle it out between June 27 and July 12.
MSI 2025 Tickets
On lolesports.com, Riot Games also revealed that the first wave of tickets will be available to purchase on March 26 from 10 AM PDT, while the second wave will become buyable on May 28 – but this is only for those with Mastercard credit cards. For everyone else, March 27 and May 29 is the date to look out for, as they can also buy tickets a day later.
The 2025 Mid-Season Invitational has high stakes, as this year, the winner of the event will automatically qualify for the 2025 World Championship, provided they make the Playoffs of their respective league.
