It has been a while since OG won any big Dota 2 competition. The team has been struggling for years to win Western Europe, which is why it decided to get a completely new South American Roster. OG.LATAM looks very promising, so let’s learn more about it.
OG.Latam Roster
After several years of bad results, OG decided to get another Dota 2 roster and compete in a different region aside from the Western European Dota 2 region. The organization announced that it would expand into South America and operate under the OG.LATAM name. As expected, the new team has several big names in it:
- Hector Antonio “K1” Rodriguez
- Gonzalo “DarkMago” Herrera
- Mario “ILICH-” Romero
- Yelstin “elmisho” Verde
- Joel “MoOz” Mori
K1 is probably the most famous player here because he has been a part of many top Dota 2 teams. The same is true for DarkMago, one of the best midders in South America. He played for the likes of BOOM Esports, Thunder Awaken, beastcoast, and more.
MoOz is also a popular name that you may recognize. He has been a professional Dota 2 player since 2016 and was also a part of all top-tier South American squads over the years.
Interestingly, MoOz, DarkMago, elmisho and ILICH- were a part of a team called M8. As for K1, he was a part of HEROIC until late 2024, which was when he decided to take a break from professional play.
The new Dota 2 roster looks good on paper, but we are yet to see it in action. OG.LATAM will play in the DreamLeague Season 26, which will begin on May 19.
A Second Attempt
A lot of people expected OG to focus entirely on its new roster, but it seems like this won’t be the case. According to the information, this will be the organization’s second Dota 2 roster. In other words, the team will continue to have its “main” roster to compete in WEU.
Unfortunately, OG experienced a lot of big roster changes in the last couple of years, and none of them were for the better. The squad is unable to secure a slot for the big events and even struggles in the Tier 2 competitions in WEU.
Fans really hope that the new Peruvian Dota 2 roster will dominate South America and can compete against some of the best in the world. We will have to wait and see if this will be the case, so don’t forget to follow Blix.gg for more information.
