We are only a few days away from the arrival of ESL One Raleigh 2025, and we have some interesting news. Team Falcons, one of the event’s favorites, won’t be able to rely on Stanislav “Malr1ne” Potorak for the event. Instead, the organization will play alongside Quinn “Quinn” Callahan.
Quinn To Stand in For Team Falcons
Team Falcons announced that their mid-laner Malr1ne won’t be able to attend ESL One Raleigh 2025, which starts a few days from now. Unfortunately, the player had visa issues and won’t be able to travel to the US.
Originally, Syed “SumaiL” Hassan should have been Team Falcon’s stand-in, but the organization decided to play alongside Quinn. The latter is a part of Gaimin Gladiators and is often considered one of the best midders in the world.
Speaking of Quinn, he and his team recently reached the FISSURE Universe Episode 4 Grand Final. Sadly, Gaimin Gladiators were unable to lift the trophy after losing to BetBoom Team in the final.
Why Quinn?
Although Team Falcons did not explicitly say why they chose Quinn, the fact that he is from the US definitely helps. Besides the fact that he would feel at home, local Dota 2 fans will be more motivated to support Falcons because of him.
Quinn has enough experience on the big scene, and we are confident that he will live up to the expectations. With that said, it will be intriguing to see if he will be sync with the other 4 member of the team.
The bad news is that Malr1ne will probably continue to have visa issues in the future. Since the player is from Russia, the current situation means that he may have all kinds of issues when traveling to certain places. It is really sad that politics interferes with everything (including gaming), but this is the reality as of now.
