Into The Breach and their commitment to R6
Into The Breach arrived in the Rainbow Six Siege competitive scene in September 2023. The British organization’s commitment to the game is notable after a short experience with the title at the beginning of 2022.
The organization took the place of the also British organization TT9 Esports in the Europe League. Renowned names in the scene, such as Juhani “Kantoraketti” Toivonen, Jonas “Jonka” Kaczmarzyk, and Luke “Kendrew” Kendrew, are part of ITB’s second experience in R6. The team announced a coaching staff consisting of two coaches, Leon “Leonski” Snikkers and Ryan “KangruKenny” Morrow.
Academy Team
Two months later, Into The Breach revealed the hiring of an academy cast with equally robust staff support. ITB arrived with a solid commitment to Rainbow Six Siege, and BLIX spoke with Blaine “Blainey” Uknighted, manager of the organization’s main team, to understand ITB’s commitment.
BLIX: ITB is relatively new to Rainbow Six Siege and is making a big bet on the game. The question is simple: why?
ITB: “Rainbow 6 is one of the most unique first-person shooters on the market right now, with a diverse community, an excellently run professional circuit & an ever-growing grassroots scene that, year after year, continues to aid the development of the next generation of professional players & team staff.”
“ITB has been actively following the Rainbow 6 Esports Circuit for several years, and with the announced partnership between Ubisoft & BLAST Esports, ITB management felt that now is the optimal time to re-enter the scene at the highest level.”
BLIX: Have you been enjoying the plans and the communication channel with Ubisoft to make such a strong bet with two rosters?
ITB: “The communication from Ubisoft & BLAST has been excellent so far & this was factored in before signing an Academy roster. As for the ‘plans,’ I will say there are exciting times ahead!”
BLIX: How do you see the continued departure of organizations from the European league?
ITB: “Esports is an industry that is still developing, so it’s not uncommon for organizations to make significant changes for reasons that are not always made public. But, when an organization leaves the EUL, another organization will take its place & potentially bring new ideas & storylines to the scene!”
