According to sources close to the situation, Julio “Julio” Giacomelli and MNM had several talks in the last days for the Brazilian to become the coach for the European squad.
Julio announced his retirement following the Six Invitational lost in the grand final to G2. w7m decided to sign Felipe “FelipoX” Lucia and Felipe “nade” Ferreira to replace Julio and Gabriel “volpz” Fernandes, who’s rumoured to join Team Liquid.
Julio joining MNM would be the second Brazilian coach in the European League after Marlon “Twister” Mello. The ex-w7m player already had an experience as coach, in the time for FURIA in the second stage of Brasileirão, being part of the journey until the playoffs of the Six Major Berlin.
MNM had an invincible run in the SI group stage but losses to Oxygen and BDS resulted in the elimination of the European roster.
