TYLOO, once a dominant force within its region and a mainstay at Valve Majors, is out of contention for the upcoming Rio de Janeiro Major. Last weekend, the team lost in the the Chinese Qualifier for the Asia-Pacific RMR.
This is the second consecutive Major the roster of BnTeT, Summer, Attacker, SLOWLY, and DANK1NG will miss. However, failing to qualify for the RMR marks the first time since 2016 — back when TYLOO first made it to the Offline Qualifier for ESL: One Cologne — the side won’t be involved in the Major cycle beyond local qualifiers.
TYLOO released the following statement on Twitter:
‘That’s it for this tournament. TYLOO gonna miss the next stage of the competition and lost the opportunity to qualify for the Rio Major. We apologize to all the fans who stayed up late to support the team and watch the game. Thanks for the support and deeply sorry for the disappointed performance.

The team was swept by Lynn Vision Gaming (westmelon, z4kr, EXPRO, Starry, Nelly) in an upper-bracket semifinal of the closed qualifier and lost 1:2 to Wings Up Gaming (lan, gas, ChildKing, MarT1n, B1NGO) in the lower-bracket semifinal.
Rare Atom (Moseyuh, Mercury, kaze, JamYoung, advent), previously known as ViCi Gaming, is the sole Chinese team that will attend the Asia-Pacific RMR for the Rio Major.
To make it to the RMR, Rare Atom beat DrawSword, CatEvil, and Wings Up in an open qualifier and then Wings Up and Lynn Vision in the closed qualifier. Rare Atom’s best performers during the closed qualifier were Moseyuh (+28 K-D differential, 1.2 HLTV rating), Mercury (+25, 1.16), and kaze (+29, 1.12).
Rare Atom’s first match of the RMR will be against Grayhound (Liazz, Sico, Vexite, INS, and aliStair) in roughly five weeks on October 7. The other two teams participating in the RMR are the mix of JiJieHao International (meztal, MOREE, BluePho3nix, facecrack, DavCost) and the Mongolian side of IHC Esports (bLitz, Techno4K, kabal, sk0R, and Annihilation), which qualified, respectively, via, the Middle Eastern Qualifier and the Asian Qualifier.
The previous offline experience of this Rare Atom lineup is limited to ESL Challenger: DreamHack Valencia 2022 event, where the team played earlier this summer. In it, the Chinese side lost to MIBR (chelo, exit, Tuurtle, JOTA, brnz4n) on Overpass in a Bo1, beat HUMMER Esports (zqk, SHOOWTiME, ckzao, delboNi, danoco) 2:1, and then swept MIBR in a Bo3 to make it out of the groups. In the semifinals of the tournament, Rare Atom was swept by Outsiders (Qikert, Jame, FL1T, n0rb3r7, fame).
