What Makes a Great Valorant Team

For a team to be at the top, some qualifications must be present. These requirements are the defining bar for a great team, and they can be summarized in three points:

    • Team achievements: To be called tremendous and ranked amongst the top Valorant teams in the world, a team needs achievements that showcase its hard work and talent.
    • Great players: A part of what makes a winning team is its players. Often, these players are skilled and have the best game mechanics in the world.
    • Inner synergies: a team without a solid connection between its players often crashes and is never successful, even with the world’s best players.

    Top Valorant Team in 2025

Many teams have raced this year to be at the top, putting in all their effort and hard work, but only a few can get that position. Here are the top 10 Valorant teams in 2025 so far:

    Team Hertics

    Team Heretics

Coming from Europe, Team Heretics deserves a top spot due to their excellent skills and talented players. This team has shown fantastic work, from tactic callouts to micro-management during matches. Despite their great work, Team Heretics couldn’t qualify for Masters Shanghai, and they are looking for revenge in the upcoming Stage 1 tournaments.

    Team Heretics players:

    • Mert “Wo0t” Alkan
    • Enes “RieNs” Ecirli
    • Ričardas “Boo” Lukaševičius – Player and In-Game Leader
    • Dominykas “MiniBoo” Lukaševičius
    • Benjy “benjyfishy” David Fish

    Team Fnatic

    Team Fnatic

Competing in the same league as Heretics, Fnatic is also a powerhouse and a strong pole in the EMEA region that can have some serious competition in the international tournament. What makes team Fnatic so dangerous and worthy of attention is their IGL Jake “Boaster” Howlett. He can easily lead Fnatic to the top with his genius tactics and calm mind during intense moments.

    Team Fnatic players:

    • Jake “Boaster” Howlett – In-Game Leader
    • Timofey “Chronicle” Khromov
    • Emir “Alfajer” Ali Beder
    • Austin ”crashies” Roberts
    • Kamil “Kaajak” Wójtowicz

    Gen.G Esports

    Gen.G Esports

Firm Pacific representative Gen.G has consistently delivered high-level gameplay and is known for its calculated aggression and strategic rotations. Gen.G is the type of team that brings fear to their opponent, with a vast trophy collection that holds the Master Shanghai 2024 trophy, beating some of the toughest teams in the world. Still, recently, they had some issues with their team and were unable to qualify for this year’s international, but they are still held amongst the top teams in Valorant in fan’s eyes.

    Gen.G players:

    • Byeon “Munchkin” Sang-beom
    • Jung “Foxy9” Jae-sung
    • Kim “t3xture” Na-ra
    • Kim “Karon” Won-tae

    Sentinels

    Sentinels

The red team is still strong despite their failed run in Master Bangcock. Sentinels is many fan’s favorite team, and what makes this team so unique is the strong bond between the players and the high hopes they set for themselves. Ranking second in the Americas region, Sentinels always finds a way for a comeback somehow, and for this, it ranked amongst the top teams in the world.

    Sentinels players:

    • Mohamed “joint” Ouarid
    • Jordan “Zellsis” Montemurro
    • Zachary “zekken” Patrone
    • Marshall “N4RRATE” Massey
    • Sean “bang” Bezerra

    DRX

    DRX

The Korean-based team has steadily climbed the ranks due to new roster changes and in-game stats. Their international performance was exceptional, taking down strong opponents along the way. DRX has leveled its game compared to last year and is now a solid block that won’t be trounced without an intense match.

    DRX players:

    • Kim “MaKo” Myeong-gwan
    • Cho “Flashback” Min-hyuk
    • No “free1ng” Ha-jun
    • Song “HYUNMIN” Hyun-min
    • Kang “BeYN” Ha-bin

    Team Liquid

    Team Liquid

Team Liquid is the dark horse on this list, and no one expected such a performance from them this year. During their run in the EMEA kickoff, Team Liquid had to overcome many strong opponents to reach the level they are at the moment, proving that the haters are wrong and that they are a team not to mess with.

    Team Liquid players:

    • Ayaz “nAts” Akhmetshin
    • Georgio “Keiko” Sanassy
    • Kamil “kamo” Frąckowiak
    • Patryk “paTiTek” Fabrowski
    • Maks “kamyk” Rychlewski

    Team Vitality

    Team Vitality

This European squad has steadily climbed the ranks, showcasing impressive teamwork and strategic depth. Their recent performances have earned them a reputation. Their team changes before the season started have paid off, and they are among the top four teams in the world so far and the best EMEA team. Despite having players from around the world, Team Vitality pushed through and conquered EMEA and, soon, maybe the whole world.

    Vitality players:

    • Felipe “Less” Basso
    • Nikita “Derke” Sirmitev
    • Nikita “trexx” Cherednichenko
    • Kimmie “Kicks” Laasner
    • Saif “Sayf” Jibraeel

    EDward Gaming

    EDward Gaming

This year, EDG is still hungry for more trophies after winning last year’s Champions 2024. Their run in China Kickoff was near-perfect after some incredible matches that proved that EDG can still perform at the highest levels and is not a one-time win team. EDG’s success will continue in 2025 with promising results that could lead to winning another Champions Tournament.

    EDG players:

    • Zheng “ZmjjKK” Yongkang
    • Hsien “S1Mon” Meng-Hsun
    • Zhang “Smoggy” Zhao
    • Wang “nobody” Senxu
    • Zhou “CHICHOO” Yuchao

    G2 Esports

    G2 Esports

Many fans and analysts predicted G2 would win Master Bangcock due to their strong performance since the beginning of the season. While G2 looked completely different between last year and now, G2 has consistently been near the top of the rankings. But I never really made it this far off. They have been named the best NA team and are more hungry than ever to score an international event.

    G2 players:

    • Jacob “valyn” Batio
    • Alexander “jawgemo” Mor
    • Trent “trent” Cairns
    • Jonah “JonahP” Pulice
    • Nathan “leaf” Orf

    T1 Esports

    T1 Esports

Having dominated Masters Bangkok, T1 has established itself as the top Valorant team in the world. Tough veterans and young up-and-comers populate their lineup, and they’ve played aggressively but straight in, adjusting thoroughly for each opponent. This victory is a historic achievement for the organization, showing they can play and win on the most significant international stage. With this wind in their move, T1 is the team to beat going to upcoming tournaments.

    T1 Esports Player:

    • Kim “stax” Gu-taek
    • Kim “Meteor” Tae-oh
    • Go “Sylvan” Young-sup
    • Yu “BuZz” Byeong-cheol
    • Ham “iZu” Woo-ju

Will These Valorant Teams Stay on Top?

While these ten teams have proven their strength in 2025, the road ahead remains unpredictable. As international events approach, challengers will rise, and only the most adaptable teams will stay on top. Will T1 hold strong? Can G2 or EDG dethrone them? The battle for the top is far from ending.
