Ubisoft and Immutable Studio announced Might & Magic Fates, a card strategy game with Web3 elements set in the universe of the Might & Magic series. So far, the developers have shown only a small teaser, and the details will be shared in the coming months.
According to the announcement, players must assemble a unique deck of hundreds of cards, customizing it to their play style. Victory will depend on the peculiarities of factions and the competent use of heroes and legendary creatures.
Immutable Studios is responsible for implementing blockchain technology. They will ensure that each digital object is unique and assigned to a specific player-owner. Such objects, such as collectible cards, can be used in the game, exchanged, and sold.
Items, including cards, can be freely sold and exchanged as full-fledged NFTs on the Ethereum blockchain, but this feature will be optional and will not provide gameplay benefits.
The game claims different types of cards, factions with their mechanics, abilities of units, and heroes.
In 2023, there were rumors online that Might & Magic Fates would be a large-scale AAA open-world game. However, a lot has changed since then.
Alas, the release date of Might and Magic Fates was not named, but it is being prepared for iOS and Android smartphones. Ubisoft does not exclude the appearance of a computer version.
In general, the fate of the Might and Magic series is at least not vague. In the summer, Heroes of Might and Magic: Olden Era will be released in Early Access, which should please both franchise veterans and newcomers who will embark on adventures in the fantasy universe for the first time.
