EG has played two matches from the start of the season until now. In their first match against LOUD, an influential Brazilian team. Unfortunately, EG didn’t stand a chance against them and lost 0-2. After that loss, EG was put in the lower bracket for a second chance, this time against another Brazilian team, Furia. EG happily won that match, saving them from elimination with a 2-0 score.
Evil Geniuses showed varying strengths in Attack and Defense during their matches. On Fracture, their attack round win rate stood out at an impressive number, showcasing their dominance with aggressive executes and map control. At the same time, their defense was weaker, indicating room for improvement in holding sites or retaking it. Meanwhile, on Abyss, EG balanced their performance with a strong attack and a solid defense, reflecting adaptability on both sides. However, Pearl highlighted struggles, with a low attack round win and an ok defense. EG thrives offensively but needs defensive consistency.
MIBR

Similar to EG, MIBR has played two matches since the season started. The first match was against 100 Thieves, and MIBR lost by a 0-2 score, sending them to the Lower Bracket. Their redemption was against Cloud9, and MIBR managed to snatch a victory and move forward in the Lower Bracket.
MIBR has shown mixed results in their attacking and defensive round win rates across maps. On Bind, their attacking rounds excelled, but their defensive ones struggled, indicating weaknesses in holding or retaking the site. They maintained a balanced approach on Pearl, with both attack and defense performing consistently. However, on Lotus, MIBR faltered with low success on attack and defense, reflecting difficulties on this map. Their strong showing on Abyss suggests MIBR thrives in aggressive setups but needs to refine defensive coordination. This highlights a need for better adaptability and stronger site-holding strategies in their games.
Current Team and Players Form
MIBR
MIBR struggled last season and finished in last place, and they had to change their whole roster. Coming to the 2025 season, MIBR signed four new players, and one of those players is the incredible Brazillian duelist who had a consistent performance across his entire career, Erick “aspas” Santos was signed in hops to redeem this team and qualified for international tournaments. Despite losing their first match, MIBR is looking solid in different categories and is looking for a win in this match.
Evil Geniuses
EG also falls in the category of teams with a significant change of players during the offseason. Their first pick was Jaccob “yay” Whiteaker, a very talented player who once was feared due to his chamber plays. The second player EG did grab was Jacob “icy” Lange, who once played for G2 Esports as a duelist. Overall, EG players are strong and talented from their IGL to their recent pick.
Match Prediction
There is a lot on the line in this match. Both teams are looking to prove that they are stronger than the other and fighting to prevent elimination, but at the end of the day, only one team gets the pass. We think MIBR will win and climb over EG in a tight and challenging match and move on.
Stay tuned to watch this match at 2 PM PST on February 1st for an epic clash.
