For the third day of the PGL Major, we will have to witness three best-of-three matches, two of which will be elimination matches, with two teams going home if they lose. Here, you will find a list of matches for today, a schedule, and some predictions based on different factors and our experience.
Day 3 Schedule
- Eternal Fire vs. VP and Imperial vs. FaZe at 13:00 CET
- Complexity vs. Vitality and ECSTATIC vs. G2 at 16:00 CET
- Cloud9 vs. Natus Vincere and HEROIC vs. paiN at 19:00 CET
Eternal Fire vs. Virtus Pro

VP is a favorite to win this match by the public and bookmakers. But if we look deeply into it, we will find good reasons to think twice about it.
Eternal Fire had a good run at the Opening Stage and showed us that they're in good shape. Being the underdogs at Elimination Stage, it started for them with a win over the last major champion, Vitality, with a 13-10 score in their first match. They lost their second game against MOUZ, even though it was close they ended up losing with an 11-13 score. It didn't stop the Turkish squad, and in the next game against one of the best teams in the world, FaZe, they crushed their opponent with a 13-1 score, leaving them no chance to fight back, which shows us what this Turkish squad is capable of.
VP were the favorites to win every single match they played. But they lost their opening match to Imperial, who is about to be eliminated at this stage. Their next two games were against paiN and HEROIC, and they did a better job closing a game vs. paiN with a 13-9 score and a game against HEROIC with a 13-6 score. So it tells us that they're in good shape but still shaky and can lose to any team on a bad day if they don't find consistency on their way.
Based on everything above, we would give a slight advantage to the motivated, less experienced but hungrier team, Eternal Fire, and the odds of being better for them are worth the risk. Eternal Fire to win this match.
Imperial vs. FaZe
Imperial vs. FaZe - PGL Major Copenhagen 2024
An underdog Brazilian team, Imperial, against one of the best teams in the world in the survival elimination match.
Imperial showed us good results in the Opening Stage and started strong with a win over VP in the first match of the Elimination Stage. In the next two games, they had to face much more experienced and substantial teams, such as Spirit and Vitality. They got demolished by Spirit with a 2-13 score and did a bit better against Vitality but still lost it with a 9-13 score. They have some firepower and preparation for this tournament, but more is needed to fight against the best teams in the world here.
FaZe is looking shaky as well. The fact that they are on the top 5 list of the favorites to win this tournament is yet to be proven. They had to play against HEROIC in the first match and lost it with a 10-13 score. The second match was against FURIA, and it seemed like they did wake up and won a game with a 13-7 score. In the third match, they had to play against an underdog but promising team, Eternal Fire, and still being considerable favorites to win a game, they ended up completely losing it with a 1-13 score. Even though it's shaky, even by results, it seems more like some team problem other than the individual skill of their players. Their players are still showing us that they're some of the best players in the world and can individually change the pace of any game at any point.
Based on experience, individual performance, and results, FaZe is still a considerable favorite for winning this match, and we think the same. It's the elimination match, and the losing team is going home, so it's now or never for FaZe, and it's one of the best chances to do it against a much less experienced team to stay in this tournament. FaZe is to win this match.
Complexity vs. Vitality
Complexity vs. Vitality - PGL Major Copenhagen 2024
Vitality is a team that won the last major tournament against Complexity and has yet to find a big win.
Complexity had a good start here at Elimination Stage and showed us good teamwork by winning their first match against paiN with a 13-9 score. In the second match, they made an insane comeback against HEROIC and won it with a 19-17 score in overtime. The third match was challenging for them. They had to meet MOUZ in a best-of-three game for the Playoff spot. On the two maps they played, the only thing they were able to do was win three rounds in total, and they looked utterly lost in the game.
Vitality could be better at this point, and they lost their opening match against an underdog team, Eternal Fire, with a 10-13 score. The following two games are hard to count as a good result, but a win is a win. The second match was against one more underdog team, the TheMongolZ, and they won it with a 13-9 score. The third match was against Imperial, who are also one of the underdogs here and Vitality won with an exact 13-9 score over them.
Based on the fact that both teams are shaky at this moment, but the players' experience and individual skill make it Vitality to have an advantage here, and it might be their best chance to get that Playoff spot. Vitality to win this match.
ECSTATIC vs. G2
ECSTATIC vs. G2 - PGL Major Copenhagen 2024
They are young but seem like a promising team, ECSTATIC, against one of the best players and teams in the world, G2, in an elimination match where the losing team has to go home.
ECSTATIC did a good job and surprised many with their results while being one of this tournament's youngest and most minor experienced teams. The Opening Stage ended up with a 3-1 score for them, and some can say they got lucky with their opponents. Elimination Stage could have started better for them in their first match. They met MOUZ and lost with an 11-13 score. The second match was against Cloud9, a team that they played in the Opening Stage and lost. They failed to win once again and lost it with a 3-13 score. The third match played for elimination as well, was against FURIA, and in a best-of-three, ECSTATIC ended up winning with a 2-1 score by the maps showing us that they came here to fight until the end, giving their all.
G2 had a good start at the Elimination Stage, and the first match went easy for them. It was played against FURIA, and G2 won it with a confident 13-3 score. In the next game, they were the favorites to win, but it was against Na'Vi, and historically, it is not a good match for G2. History repeated, and G2 lost it with an 11-13 score. Even though they were in the lead, they couldn't stop Na'Vi, who made a comeback. The third match was against Cloud9, and once again, being the favorites to win it, they lost it with a 9-13 score. Their players seem in good shape, and it sometimes looks more like a teamplay problem.
It doesn't matter the results. Nothing would change the fact that G2 is the favorite to win this match against a younger and less experienced team. G2 won't give up that easily, and it's one of the best chances for them to stay in the tournament, and they will fight for it. G2 to win this match.
Cloud9 vs. Natus Vincere
Cloud9 vs. Natus Vincere - PGL Major Copenhagen 2024
Two teams who know each other well in a match for the Playoffs spot.
Cloud9 only lost one match since the Opening Stage, and it was a match they were expected to lose against one and might be the best team in the world at this moment, Team Spirit. They lost it with a 7-13 score. They had no problems winning the rest of the matches and ended up here with a 2-1 score. It might be the last match to win and finally get that playoff spot. Cloud9 players are in good shape, and their teamplay is there to help them.
It seems like Natus Vincere is getting it step by step. They started pretty slow, we would say. The first match was against an underdog team, TheMongolZ, and it was more challenging than expected for Na'Vi, even though they ended up winning it with a 13-10 score. The second match was against G2, and Na'Vi, being the underdog team there, not only won it with a 13-11 score but in the game, they made a big comeback, which shows us the strong spirit of this team and their players. The third match was against Team Spirit, and they were expected to lose it, yet they did well against them in a best-of-three match. They could take one map of them, and even though they ended up losing with a 1-2 score by maps, it still shows us that they're capable of beating the best teams at this point.
This match is a tough one to predict a winner. It will be even here if you look at any bookmaker odds. But based on the two teams being in good shape, it's better to avoid betting for a winner here, and it might be better to choose a different type of bet here. We would say it's Over 2.5 Maps to be played in this match.
HEROIC vs. paiN
HEROIC vs. paiN - PGL Major Copenhagen 2024
It is an elimination match for two underdog teams in this tournament.
HEROIC came here strong with a 3-0 score from Opening Stage. They started strong here at the elimination stage and won the first match with a 13-10 score from FaZe. Unfortunately, they were in the lead in the second game against Complexity but lost it with a 17-19 score. The third match was against VP, and they lost it with a 6-13 score. Now they’re here at the elimination stage and fighting for survival at this tournament. Overall, their players are in good shape, and having young to the big scene in-game leader 'kyxsan' seems to work, but they need consistency.
paiN surprised many with their run in the Opening Stage with a 3-1 score. Unfortunately, at the Elimination Stage, they had to meet more experienced teams from the start. The first one was a match against Complexity, and they lost it with a 9-13 score. The second match was against an even more experienced team VP, and they lost it with the same 9-13 score. In the third match, they had to play against TheMongolZ, and it was an even match with two underdog teams fighting for survival. paiN came on top, winning that match with a 2-1 score by the maps. Players' skills are there for paiN, but experience and consistency are yet to be found.
Based on everything above, there is a clear HEROIC advantage in this match based on experience, individual skill, and team results overall. HEROIC to win this match.
