Russian team Outsiders (Virtus.pro) has defeated Norwegian esports organization Heroic at the Grand Final of the Intel Extreme Masters Rio Major 2022 with a score of 2:0.
Outsiders, as a winner, qualifies for the IEM Katowice 2023 and the BLAST Premier Final 2022 and takes home $500,000.
Heroic receives $170,000 as a reward for the second place.
Rio Major 2022 was remembered for the fact that two favorites, FaZe Clan and Natus Vincere, were eliminated long before the final. NAVI was eliminated from the tournament in the quarterfinals, while FaZe couldn’t even make it out of the group stage in the playoffs.
