GRID has officially announced the exciting return of the Thunderpick World Championship for the third consecutive year. The championship series debuted in 2023, with FaZe emerging victorious to claim the inaugural title and a grand prize of $250,000.
In 2025, the Championship is set to offer an impressive total prize pool of $1,000,000, continuing its tradition from the previous year. The tournament will comprise six online Series events hosted across Europe, North America, and South America, serving as the gateway for teams to qualify for the newly introduced Closed Qualifier. The ClosedQualifier will effectively determine which teams will advance to the prestigious eight-team Finals, raising the stakes for all participants.
In each regional series, 16 teams will compete for a chance to advance to the closed qualifier. Ten invited teams will join the six teams that qualify in the closed qualifier. From there, the closed qualifier will select four teams to move on to the Finals, which will be heldin an online setting. Additionally, four more teams will receive direct invitations to the Finals based on Valve rankings.
During each qualifier event, there will be a total of $25,000 up for grabs in prizes.Once the competitors make it to the Finals, they will be competing for a total of $850,000 in prizes.
