British-based esports organization FNATIC set to add two new players to its VALORANT roster for the 2023 VCT season following players: Timofey “Chronicle” Khromov and Leo “Leo” Jannesson, sources told BLIX.GG on Thursday.
For long, Chronicle has been considered to be one of the best players in the world; he found early success and maintained it. The Russian was part of the Gambit Esports team last year that dominated VCT 2021 Masters in Berlin and then finished as runners-up in the Champions stage, just losing out 2-3 against Acend.
In the most recent VCT, Chronicle and his team M3 Champions (M3C) got close but did not make it past the Challengers stage. M3C had one last shot in the Last Chance Qualifiers (LCQ), but finished second behind Team Liquid and ended their season early.
As for Leo, the 18-year old was formerly part of Guild Esports, who were rejected a slot in the franchised league as previously reported by BLIX. He did not have the level of success tht Chronicle did, but his individual performances were still impressive enough to have interest from teams like FNATIC. Leo has been one of the most wanted players this transfer market. He received interest from the vast majority of VCT teams but finally ended up opting for Fnatic.
FNATIC has recently allowed both Mistic and Enzo to explore options. But it is quite likely that Chronicle will not be able to get the Visa in time for the next tournament and everything points to Mistic playing in the next Fnatic tournament. However, this is not confirmed and everything could change quickly.
