Benjy ‘benjyfishy’ Fish, the Fortnite legend, has become a superstar in Valorant Esports. At the of 20, the British player once conquered Fortnite, winning over 600.000 dollars to make it to the Finals of the top Valorant Champions 2024 with Team Heretics.
Benjyfishy made a name for himself in the Fortnite community in 2019 at 15, joining NRG Esports and qualifying for the Fortnite World Cup in Solos and Duos. His exceptional performance earned him a 25th and 14th place finish, respectively, and his popularity took off, quickly turning him into one of the most recognized faces in the game.
Over his Fortnite career, benjyfishy earned more than USD 650,000, but his passion for the game began to vanish. “I’m a very competitive person, and Fortnite isn’t a competitive game,” Benjy explained. “I wanted to do something I enjoyed more and I’d have more motivation for, which is why I made the switch.”
In 2020, Benjyfishy officially transitioned to Valorant. At first, he started small, only streaming and climbing the rank leaderboard and competing in small regional tournaments; he was determined to reach the high levels of Valorant and compete with a franchised team.

Climbing the Valorant Ladder: The Early Days
Benjyfishy entry was signed to Enterprise Esports, beginning his professional Valorant journey; his hard work and dedication weren’t for nothing; he helped his team win Grunex Challenge #2 in late 2020, showcasing his potential as a top-tier player. Throughout 2023, he continued to excel and improve with Enterprise Esport, earning two consecutive second-place finishes in the Valorant Challengers 2023 East: Surge Splits 1 and 2. His performances earned him the “Rookie of the Season” award, a testament to his adaptability and talent in Valorant.
A New Chapter with Team Heretics
Benjy “benjyfishy” Fish
In June 2023, Enterprise Esports cut ties with Benjyfishy as he became a free agent; around that time, Team Heretics was looking for an emergency sub-in for their VCT International League roster. Benjyfishy joined Team Heretics and quickly blended in well with the rest of the roster. His first season with Team Heretics was challenging. Despite their effort, KOI knocked them out in his debut VCT game in 2023.
Going into the 2024 season, Team Heretics had rebuilt almost their entire roster, only leaving Benjyfishy and BOO. Team Heretics had a slow start to the 2024 season but showed great potential with this new team, securing the top two in Masters Madrid 2024.
While the team struggled initially, Benjyfishy’s leadership and positive attitude motivated the squad. “Having young players who are hungry and super motivated to win is more important than anything experience can get you,” Benjyfishy said, reflecting on the team’s dynamics.
Knowing their potential as a team, Team Heretics didn’t give up but kept pushing and worked harder, fixing what their team was lacking. Team Heretics entered Masters Shanghai 2024 without their duelist “MiniBoo.”
Despite that, they finished in second place, beating one of the best teams worldwide. The season has yet to end, and Team Heretics and Benjyfishy have much to improve.
With Champions 2024 approaching and placing third in the Champions Tour 2024: EMEA Stage 2, Team Heretics entered Champions; while it wasn’t a smooth ride with many ups and downs, they managed to finish in second place, winning $400,000 in prize pool money.
While it was a great season for Team Heretics, they still need to catch up on a few elements of their team to make them unbeatable, and they have that; Team Heretics still needs to find their key to success.
