Danish esport organization Copenhagen Flames has announced the signing of a new CS:GO roster after selling an old one.
For the in-game leader position, Danish club invited Thomas “birdfromsky” Due-Frederiksen from ECSTATIC. Among new roster are two ex-MAD LIONS, Thomas “TMB” Bundsbæk and Johannes “b0RUP” Borup. Also on the team are young AWPer Iulian “regali” HarjÄu from Fnatic Rising and Rasmus “raalz” Steensborg from Sprout. The new head coach is Benjamin “cube” Stabell.
All of them are Danes except 19-year-old regali. He is Romanian.
Earlier, Copenhagen Flames had sold the old CS:GO team. First, Danes tried to sell the squad as a whole but as a result, its players went to different houses.
Steffen Thomsen, Copenhagen Flames CEO, explained their strategy.
“We have proven that we are among if not the best club in terms of developing players with more than 15 transfers the past two years’¦ We know our place in the CS:GO ecosystem and attractive players will be sold, but we want to reach a point where we can turn down offers and have players wanting to stay longer. We want fans of our club to build relationships with the players and vice versa,” he said.
