The Russian prodigy is traveling to retrieve his passport and may reach London in time for the initial round of matches.
‘m0NESY’ will not miss the BLAST Premier Spring Final after all. G2 had previously announced that their star AWPer, Ilya ‘â m0NESY’ Osipov, would miss the event due to visa issues. However, the Russian player has now confirmed on Telegram that his visa has been approved and that he is now flying to collect his passport.
The team initially planned to play with coach Wiktor ‘TaZ’ Wojtas in London, as Rasmus ‘HooXi’ Nielsen missed IEM Dallas for his sister’s wedding. G2 won in Dallas with Jake ‘Stewie2K’ Yip standing in, but losing star AWPer ‘m0NESY’ was a big blow to their firepower, one of G2’s great strengths.
The 19-year-old has already left to pick up his passport, hoping to make it to London in time for G2’s opening series against Spirit on Wednesday.
