Tournament Overview
IEM Rio 2024 is an S-Tier tournament with a $250,000 prize pool that will be held from October 7 to October 13. There are sixteen teams featured, and the participant list also includes three of the world’s best teams, such as Natus Vincere, Vitality, and G2. First place at IEM Rio will not only get a $100,000 share of the prize pool but also a spot at IEM Katowice 2025.
Tournament Format
Group Stage
- Two double-elimination format (GSL) Groups
- Each group has eight teams
- Opening matches are Bo1
- All following matches are Bo3
- The top three teams from each group advance to the Playoffs
- Group stage winners advance to the Semifinals
- Group stage runners-up advance to the Quarterfinals as the High Seeds
- Group stage 3rd place teams advance to the Quarterfinals as the Low Seeds
