League of Legends Fearless Draft – What is it?
Fearless Draft is a mode that does not allow League of Legends teams to use the same champions twice. After selecting a given champion, it will not be available again for the remainder of the series. In other words, teams only get one shot to use a specific champion.
Even though the LoL Fearless Draft mode might seem a bit too much, it is already in use across the first splits of all regional leagues. Players should know that they have 10 extra fearless bans in addition to those from the standard picking/banning phase. Overall, Fearless Draft makes the series more interesting because teams must step up their game and develop new winning strategies.
Different Types of Fearless Drafts
From what we have seen, there are two Fearless Draft options in League of Legends. The first one works like the mode described above, but the opposing team can pick the champions that their opponents picked. This Fearless Mode variation has a lot of advantages because it gives teams more freedom to use what they like.
The second variation, however, is different. Once a team picks a given champion, the latter becomes unavailable even to the opposite team for the rest of the series. This forces both competitors to be way more innovative because, in a Bo5 scenario, they need to use a total of 50 different champions. This is not easy, even for professional players.
