LoL Mid-Season Invitational – What is It?
In an article from a few days ago, we revealed more information about the road to LoL MSI Invitational 2025, the tickets, and more. In terms of the event itself, this will be one of the three international LoL competitions. Its first version was in 2015, and since then, it has featured the top teams from each big region in LoL.
The teams that attend the competition are determined based on their Spring Split results. This year’s MSI 2025 will be in Vancouver, Canada, and it will begin in early July. Unless there are significant changes in the event’s format, we will see 10 teams, two from each big region.
After the event is over, the team that wins the LoL MSI 2025 will receive a slot for the League of Legends World Championship, which will take place in China.
Aside from the winner, the region that performs best will get an extra slot for the LoL Worlds, which means that we will see more teams from certain parts of the world.
MSI 2025 – The Teams That Could Make It
Even though we do not know the names of the teams that will attend the League of Legends Mid-Season Invitational 2025, there are a handful of squads that we expect to see at this event. Let’s go through each region and learn more about it.
Korea – LCK
Korea is undeniably the best LoL region in the world, and the LCK is the most competitive league out there. Judging by the teams’ recent results here, we believe that Gen.G will most likely be one of the representatives. The squad has an excellent streak and has some of the best individual players in the world.
Aside from Gen.G, Hanwha Life Esports is the second big name that we believe will attend the event. The team has solid results on the domestic scene, and we expect it to keep dominating.
China – LPL
To be fair, the results of China’s top-tier LoL teams disappointed their fans. Top Esports is the only big name here that could compete with the Koreans, but even this team barely made it to the First Stand’s playoffs. The good news is that the squad dominates domestically, so we expect them to shine.
Aside from TES, many people will believe that BiliBilli Gaming will be the 2nd team from China. It’s among the few clubs from the country whose results are consistent, so we expect them to step up their game.
EMEA – LEC
If you’ve been following the League of Legends EMEA region, you know that Karmine Corp is the best team right now. The squad has had excellent results recently and dethroned a lot of the EMEA powerhouses, such as G2 Esports.
Speaking of G2, we also believe that they will be one of the participants at the LoL MSI Invitational 2025. G2 Esports was one of the world’s best LoL teams and was in a league of its own compared to the rest of the region. Even though this may no longer be the case, we still believe the team is one of the best in the world.
LTA – North and South America
An interesting fact about the LTA is that the region will have one representative from the North and one from the South. Starting with the latter, FURIA seems like the best team there and the one that has the biggest chances of attending MSI 2025.
As for the North, Cloud9 is probably the first name that comes to mind. The team has been in a good position lately and has consistent results, which puts it one step above the rest. Having said that, teams like FlyQuest are also worth following because they have proven that they can surprise a lot of people.
Pacific – LCP
Unlike all the regions so far, the LCP just started the second split. This means that we will have to wait to see what happens to have a clear answer, but it seems like GAM Esports and CTBC Flying Oyster are the two options worth checking.
With that said, this region has several other teams that can also surprise us. Team Secret Whales, for example, is one of them and TALON Esports is also famous for its explosive results.
The League of Legends Teams that We May Not See in Action
We have yet to see the teams that will attend the League of Legends Mid-Season Invitational 2025, but there’s no arguing that we will miss out on many of the big names. One of them is T1 because the squad is in the most competitive region, and the others are just too good right now. Following Zeus’s departure, the team is still struggling, so we will see what happens.
Team Liquid from the LCS is another big name we may not see in action. It did fairly well in the first half, but the most recent results haven’t been that promising. Lastly, we also have KOI, a fan-favorite LoL team that will probably struggle against some of the leaders in this part of the world, such as G2 and Fnatic.
Closing Thoughts
One thing is sure – the 2025 Lol Mid-Season Invitational will be one of the highlights of the year. We will see all of the world’s leading LoL teams in action, and this will show us which region stands out. Don’t forget to follow us for more information.
