Following the end of the EWC 2025 Group Stage, it was time for the Elimination Phase. We saw a couple of epic series, but now that the dust has settled, we have the latest 4 teams to join the Group Stage winners in the Playoffs. Let’s go through everything.
Gaimin Gladiators
The first squad to advance to the Esports World Cup 2025 Dota 2 Playoffs is the Gaimin Gladiators. After finishing second in Group B, GG had to play against the winner of Team Yandex and Shopify Rebellion. As expected, SR failed to live up to expectations, allowing Yandex to face GG.
Even though fans expected a close clash, this was definitely not the game. Gaimin Gladiators was clearly on another level, and the team had no issues against its opponents. The squad dominated in both games and secured a slot for the Playoffs.
Speaking of the devil, GG will have to face Team Spirit in the Quarterfinals. The match will take place on July 16 at 12:00 EEST.
PARIVISION
The second Dota 2 team that will advance to the EWC 2025 Playoffs is PARIVISION. This may not come as a surprise because PARIVISION is one of the big favorites to win this competition.
After securing the 2nd place in Group D, the EEU squad was waiting for the winner of the Xtreme Gaming vs Execration clash. The Chinese team was better and secured a match against the big favorites. Unfortunately, XG could not bring down their powerful opponents and had to wave goodbye to the EWC 2025.
After their success, PARIVISION will play against Aurora Gaming in the Quarterfinals. If you want to watch the match, tune in on July 16 at 12:00 EEST.
Tundra Esports
Tundra is definitely one of the Dota 2 teams that we expected to perform better in the Group. Sadly, the squad could not win, so it had to participate in the Elimination Phase.
Tundra Esports had to battle against Talon Esports, the team that defeated HEROIC before that. Most experts thought that the SEA powerhouse would defeat their WEU counterparts, but this was not the case. The WEU squad gave Talon no chances of winning as the team ripped through their opponents in both games.
Tundra’s success means that the team will face BetBoom Team in the Quarterfinals. Dota 2 fans agree that this will be one of the most anticipated matches at the EWC 2025 so far, so if you want to watch it live, tune in on July 17 at 12:00 EEST.
Team Falcons
The last team we want to discuss is Team Falcons, one of the event’s big favorites. Unlike all of the other teams mentioned so far, TF finished 3rd in Group B, so the team had to play 2 games in the Elimination Phase.
Falcons started with a relatively easy victory against Virtus.Pro, after which it had to face Na’Vi. Although we expected this match to be much closer, the reality was different because TF was on another level. Game 1 was slightly more complicated for the Middle Eastern squad, but Game 2 was one-sided.
After eliminating both Eastern European teams, the Falcons will have a mountain to climb in the face of Team Liquid. The two will meet on July 17 at 15:30 EEST, so make sure you won’t miss the upcoming clash.
Closing Thoughts
It’s safe to say that all of the remaining Dota 2 teams have what’s needed to win the Esports World Cup 2025 Dota 2. The bad news is they have no room for mistakes because the Playoffs do not have a Lower Bracket. We expect to see many epic series, so make sure to follow us for more details.
