Xtreme Gaming Crushes Tundra Esports to Reach Semifinals
The match between Tundra Esports and Xtreme Gaming set the tone for the day and it was an epic battle. The series started with a slight lead for the Western European team, but as the game dragged on into the later stages, XG prevailed.
We were impressed with the Chinese tactical play because the team read the game perfectly. Once it grabbed the lead in the later stage of the mid-game, XG did not let it slip and won the first map.
With just one game away from losing, Tundra decided to use an interesting draft that put BZM on Earthshaker. While things looked good on paper, they did not go according to plan.
Xtreme Gaming was quick to seize the initiative and slowly started building the items they needed. Their Clinkz had a rough start, but he bounced back perfectly and carried his team to another dominant victory. This sent XG to the Semifinals, whereas Tundra must play in the Lower Bracket.
PARIVISION Extends Winning Streak with 2-0 Over HEROIC
The second series of the day was probably not as exciting as the first one because it was the battle of Davis vs Goliath. As expected, PARIVISON took down the underdogs in the Playoff, but the match was more interesting than expected.
Both teams used two (kind of) similar drafts in games one and two. While the first one was definitely more challenging and lasted for 52 minutes, PARIVISION revealed why they are among the best in the world and had no issues in Game 2.
After the success, PARIVISION advances to the next stage, which is a semifinal against Xtreme Gaming. This will be the first clash between the two at this TI, and it’s safe to say it will be among the most interesting series yet.
Team Falcons Dominate Team Tidebound in Quick Series
As expected, Team Falcons continues with its dominant performance and secured a 0-2 victory against Team Tidebound. If we have to be fair, we expected a much closer match because TT did well in the Group Stage. Instead of that, however, Falcons secured two relatively fast victories and will advance to the Semifinals.
The first map between the two was more intense because we saw an interesting draft from TT. Even though they surprised their opponents, it was not enough, and Team Falcons won the match.
The Chinese squad got a more traditional pick for Game 2, but it was still not enough to bring down the MENA powerhouse. After this victory, Team Falcons will face the winner of the BB Team vs. NGX Match.
BetBoom Edges Out Nigma Galaxy in Three-Game Thriller
The last series of the day put together BetBoom Team and Nigma Galaxy. It was one of those matches where one of the teams (BetBoom) was the big favorite, so most people were not surprised it won. Having said that, the victory was not easy at all because we saw 3 full maps.
Game 1 was the longest and most interesting because it lasted over one hour. Even though Nigma won it, it was not enough for the team to keep up with their opponents, and they lost games 2 and 3. This means SumaiL and the rest will play against Team Tidebound, whereas BetBoom advances against Team Falcons.
