The International 2025 came to an end and the tournament had everything we wanted, except for one thing – the new hero release. Normally, Valve always gives us some hints about Dota 2’s future hero, but this year was different. Nevertheless, we dove deep and found some interesting rumours about the game’s potential new hero – Bard Frog.
New Dota 2 Hero Bard Frog
According to several people on Twitter, Valve is preparing to give us a new Dota 2 hero. Apparently, data miners have discovered two key changes in the game files, one of which is a new hero called Bard-Frog. Aside from that, the game’s total number of heroes has been set to 127 instead of 126, meaning there is a good chance we will see something new soon.
There is no specific information about when the hero will actually arrive, but we expect it to be with the next big Dota 2 patch. Valve is yet to release the new update after the end of TI14, so we expect to see it soon.
Some users mentioned that the new hero is already being tested on Dota 2 experimental servers.
Dota 2 Bard Frog – What Will he be Like?
We do not have any information about Bard Frog, the way he looks or any of his abilities. We will have to wait for the official Dota 2 new hero release date to learn more about it, but we have to remember that the latest Dota 2 hero (Kez) was a carry. Consequently, we would not be surprised if Bard-Frog turns out to be a support or a mid-laner.
Unless Valve decides to be extremely creative with Bard Frog, the hero should be melee. It should also have some sort of resemblance to Slark or at least share a somewhat similar storyline because both will be from the “same kind”.
Conclusion
We will have to wait and see if Dota 2 Bard-Frog is actually Valve’s latest hero and if he will be available in the next patch. In the meantime, we at Blix.gg follow all of the latest roster changes closely as teams are preparing for DreamLeague Season 27. The tournament will begin soon and include the best teams in the world.
