The new Dota 2 Patch 7.39e is out and it’s probably not what most people expected to see. We were confident that Valve would grant us access to a major new update that would introduce Bard-Frog to the game, but this was not the case. Instead, we have another balance patch in the current meta, so let’s check what it has to offer.

7.39e Dota 2 Patch – Neutral Creeps and Items Updates
Like the previous tweaks of the 7.39 patch, the “e” version comes with a few small creep and item changes. Starting with the neutral creep updates, Alpha Wolf’s pack leader Aura will now provide a 20% damage boost instead of 30%. As for the Skeleton Warriors, their rally aura bonus attack damage has been decreased from 3 to 2.
Moving on to the item updates, we have a few interesting things:
- Helm of the Dominator and Helm of the Overlord Nerfs – After the massive popularity of the item at The International 2025, Valve decided to nerf it. The item will now have 50 mana to use and can no longer be used if the currently dominated creep took damage from hero-based sources in the last 3 seconds. Also, the dominated creep now has 370 MS instead of 380 MS.
- Refresher Orb will now give an extra 10s to the cooldowns it refreshes with each use (up to 210s). Also, the item will cost 400 mana to use instead of 350.
It is also important to know that BKB and Ghost Scepter will no longer stack. This was a very annoying feature and Valve finally decided to address it.
There are several other minor changes, but we recommend checking the Dota 2 Patch 7.39e full changelog for more details. There are also three small nerfs with the neutral items, such as Outworld Staff, which will make units immobile and unvulnerable instead of hidden.
Dota 2 7.39e Patch Hero Changes
We were not surprised that Valve decided to offer us all kinds of small hero buffs and nerfs. We will not go through each hero because the article will be too long, but there are several changes that we believe are worth checking.
- Beastmaster – The hero’s base damage is down by two, and his level 1 damage is now 50-54 instead of 52-56. Also, BM’s level 15 talent now grants +15 instead of +20 MS and his level 25 one decreases Primar Roar’s CD by 25s instead of 30s. These changes will make the hero.
- Disruptor – His Thunderstorm Facet now adds a 75% slow instead of 100%. Also, Static Storm has more CD on levels 1 and 2.
- Earthshaker – The Tectonic Buildup Facet grants 30 instead of 40 AoE to Aftershock. The latter also deals less damage on all 4 levels. Also, his level 10 talent gives +75 Fissure Damage instead of +90.
- Kez – Dota 2’s newest hero got tons of changes. For starters, Flutter (His Faceit) will now consume the first bonus by the first attack of Echo Slash and Ratpor Dance rather than applying to the entire cast. The hero also comes with various small changes to Kazurai Katana, Raptor Dance, Falcon Rush and Shodo Sai. Also, Kez finally made his way into the Captain’s Mode, so it will be very interesting to see him in action on the big stage.
- Monkey King – His Boundless Strike with Aghs Shard now increases Primal Spring’s Max Power by 35% instead of 40%. Tree Dance’s movement will now be cancelled if MK is interrupted. Lastly, his level 10 talent related to Primal Spring’s max damage will be down to +85 instead of +100.
Conclusion
All in all, the new Dota 2 Patch will bring the much-needed balance changes before DreamLeague Season 27. This will be the first major tournament following The International 2025 and will carry a $1 million reward. It will be intriguing to see how teams will take advantage of the situation, so don’t forget to follow us for more details.
