Just a few days ago, we reported that Virtus.Pro revealed its new roster. The organization also decided to keep its existing CIS team so it can compete in another region, but it seems like this will not happen.
VP.CIS Roster Is No Longer Active
Out of the blue, VP announced that the organization is shutting down its VP.CIS roster. All players are now free to decide where they want to continue their careers and it seems like some of them have already made up their minds.
Judging from the post, Andrey “Serenada” Kushnarev will go back to VP. Prodigy so he can “continue his development with the club”. Artem “fng” Barshak will also remain a part of Virtus.Pro, but we do not know if he will be a player or keep coaching.
This means that all of the remaining Dota 2 players will have to look for new teams. This includes Ivan “OneJey” Zhivtsky, Vladislav “Rein” Kosygin, Ivan “Мистер Мораль” Ilichev and Alik “V-Tune” Vorobey. There are tons of roster changes going on right now, so we won’t be surprised if the four players find new teams very soon.
What Caused the Decision?
We are not fully sure what the main reason is why VP decided to remove its CIS roster. According to some rumours, the organization decided to cut costs and focus on its main Dota 2 team instead. Others say that the organization is afraid that its two rosters could interfere with Valve’s rules.
Regardless of the reason, Virtus.Pro is officially down to one main roster and it is currently playing in the PGL Wallachia Season 6 qualifiers. We will keep an eye on them, so make sure to follow us for more details.
