The Chinese Dota 2 powerhouse Vici Gaming is officially back in Dota 2! The team decided it was high time to join the action and has a completely new roster (although the names in it are familiar). As you will see in just a bit, the roster has several well-known names, and it will try to leave its mark.
Vici Gaming is Back in Dota 2
Vici has always been one of the best Dota 2 organizations from China. Despite having a solid roster in 2023 and 2024, the team wasn’t able to compete on the same level as its European counterparts. That’s why the organization decided it was time to rebuild its roster and invited the following players:
- Lou “Lou” Zhen
- Guo “Xm” Hongcheng
- Chung “Ws” Wei Shen
- Xiong “Pyw” Jiahan
- Ding “Dy” Cong
The massive roster change comes just a few weeks after the team failed to qualify for The International 2025. Despite adding the likes of Kaka and Ori, the team did not make it past the second round in the qualifiers and disbanded shortly after that.
Vici is keen on joining the professional stage again because the team decided to rebuild its roster. This comes just a few days after Xtreme Gaming’s impressive run at TI14, which proved that the Chinese Dota 2 scene is back.
With that said, Vici Gaming’s new roster does not have any new names on it. Everyone on it has been around for some time now, and many fans are puzzled as to why Vici did not give any new players a chance.
What’s Next for Vici Gaming?
There are several big Dota 2 tournaments left until the end of 2025, so we hope that Vici will qualify for at least one of them. The team’s roster looks good on paper (despite the lack of new talent), but we’ll have to see if it can compete against any of the big names in the region. Follow us for more details.
