Prize Pool Breakdown: How BLAST Slam IV Distributes Its $1 Million
The BLAST Slam IV is hosted by BLAST and will be an online and offline tournament held in Singapore. Players wishing to watch it live will have to tune in between October 14 and November 9 and will see a total of 12 teams. They will compete for a share of the $1,000,000 prize pool.
Once the online format is over, the LAN stage (Playoffs) will be in the Singapore Indoor Stadium. You can learn more about them in a bit.
Going back to the prize pool, the winner will take $300K, whereas the team that finished second will get $150. Squads that finish 3rd/4th will get $60K.
BLAST Slam IV Format Explained: Group Stage to Grand Final
The format of BLAST Slam IV is similar to that of many other Dota 2 tournaments, despite the fact that there will only be 12 teams. We will have a Group Stage where all teams will be playing in a round-robin B1 matches. The best two squads will go to the Semifinals, whereas those who finish between 3rd and 8th place will go to the Play-In.
We expected the last three teams to be eliminated, but it seems like this won’t be the case. Instead, those who finish between 9th and 12th place will proceed to the Last Chance Playoff. The latter will have a Bo3 format, and only the winner will advance to the Play-In.
Speaking of Play-In, this will be the third stage, and it will also have Bo3 matches. The winner will go to the Quarterfinals, whereas everyone else will be eliminated.
The Playoffs will take place from November 7 to 9, during which you can watch the matches live in Singapore. We will have a single elimination bracket with Bo3 matches and a Bo5 Grand Final.
BLAST Slam IV Teams: Full Lineup and Top Contenders
We will see a total of 12 teams at BLAST Slam IV, and we already know their names:
- Talon Esports
- Team Liquid
- PARIVISION
- Team Falcons
- Team Spirit
- BetBoom Team
- Tundra Esports
- Team Aurenus
- HEROIC
- Aurora Gaming
- Natus Vincere
- Yakult Brothers
Considering we will see Team Falcons, the current TI winner, it’s no surprise that the team is the big favorite. The Falcons have been impressive lately and have defeated all the top names in Dota 2. This will be the squad’s first big Dota 2 tournament after TI came to an end, so fans can’t wait to see them in action.
PARIVISION is another of the potential favorites that fans will keep an eye on. Despite not winning Dota 2’s most popular event a few weeks ago, PARIVISION proved itself among the most stable names right now.
We believe that Team Liquid is the last favorite here that deserves more attention. Liquid definitely let its fans down at TI14, but the team has what’s needed to win BLAST Slam IV.
