Team Yandex did the impossible and won the last big Dota 2 competition of 2025. This was also the first tournament to be played on the Dota 2 patch 7.40 (although the patch arrived in the middle of it). Let’s take a look at what happened.
Team Yandex’s Incredible Run
It is safe to say that people did not expect Team Yandex to perform that well. Following BLAST Slam V’s second place, the team continued to impress with its performance and lifted the last big competition of the year.
Team Yandex did fairly well in the Group Stage, where it finished 5th with 4 victories and 2 losses. As expected, these results allow the team to secure a slot for the Upper Bracket, where it had to face Virtus.Pro. The match was intense, but in the end, VP was unable to win as their opponents advanced forward.
After this success, Yandex had a very tough match against Tundra Esports, a team that has been on fire this year. We expected the WEU squad to have no issues, but Yandex proved once again that they are on another level and advanced to the UP Final.
Speaking of the final, this was the first time that Yandex and Team Spirit met in a direct clash. Spirit was the favorite, but the team was unable to live up to the expectations and dropped to the Lower Bracket.
After defeating PARIVISION, Team Spirit reached the Grand Final and had the chance to get a rematch. Sadly for them, Yandex was determined to win this tournament and the team snatched the DreamLeague Season 27 title.
The last two tournaments have been really good for the CIS team and it’s safe to say fans are eager to see what’s going to happen in 2026. Make sure you follow us for more details.
