According to sources with knowledge of the negotiations, BLIX understands that Tony “Zikz” Gray has reached a verbal agreement with VCT Americas team 100 Thieves to be the team’s new coach. The news follows Evil Geniuses’ decision to part ways with the VALORANT Champions 2023 winning coach on September 8th.
During Zikz’s ten-month tenure on Evil Geniuses, the 30-year-old helped raise the profile of the squad, notably by Champions but otherwise enjoying strong performances in Masters Tokyo and the Americas League.
In joining 100 Thieves, Zikz would likely be taking over head coach duties from Michael “Mikes” Hockom, with his fate and future with the organization currently unknown.
