Alejandro ‘Alex’ Masanet has taken over the spot of Tiago ‘JUST’ Moura in Iberian Soul, the tag that previously represented KOI and has been exploring new opportunities since the beginning of the year.
The transition brings the Spanish in-game leader back together with teammates he played with during different versions of his more than five-year stint at Movistar Riders, which he left to join Ninjas in Pyjamas in November 2023.
‘alex’ led the Swedish organization for a challenging ten months, a period in which the team failed to qualify for the PGL Major Copenhagen and struggled at numerous international events, securing their only grand final appearance at YaLLa Compass 2024.
He was sidelined in November to accommodate Gareth ‘MisteM’ Ries and is now back to his Iberian roots alongside Alejandro ‘mopoz’ Fernández-Quejo Cano, the only player left from the version of Movistar Riders he departed from.
Iberian Soul is set to participate in CCT Season 2 Europe Series 16, beginning with a Swiss group stage on January 20. They will also compete in ESL Challenger League Season 49 Europe, which takes place from January 21 to May 11.
