Björn “THREAT” Pers decided to part ways with Ninjas in Pajamas and will not be the club’s CS team’s General Manager anymore. This marks the end of his three-year stay with the club.
THREAT Leaves NiP
According to THREAT, he made the decision to part ways with NIP earlier this year. He did not want to be in a role where “performance-related work” was not what he’d do. In other words, he wants to be involved in the team’s potential success.
THREAT has been a part of NiP in various positions in the last couple of years. In fact, he has been a part of the organization since 2016, even though it was on and off. He became the head coach in 2016 and held the role until 2018. After that, he was also in the role between 2020 and 2021 and helped the team win 5 big trophies. This also includes IEM Oakland 2016 and 2017.
Now that he leaves the organization, THREAT will have to look for new options. We do not have any information about what’s next, and the player himself said that he is “still figuring that out”. He even mentioned that it is possible to get involved in something outside of esports.
The last couple of years have not been that good for NiP. The team failed to win any of the big tournaments and did not achieve any top placings either. In fact, the team’s last big win was during the Global Esports Tour Dubai 2022, which was more than 4 years ago.
