As TheMongolZ made it past Eternal Fire in the quarterfinal, now we will see them in a semi-final of IEM Katowice 2025, facing off against the fourth-best team in the world, Vitality. TheMongolZ is the youngest team in the playoff stage, and experience will not be on their side, but being young and hungry to prove themselves, they might surprise everyone. These two teams met at IEM Rio 2024, and Vitality won with a 2-0 score. Overall, these teams played five maps, and Vitality won all of them.

Let’s start with their star player ‘ZywOo’; he is leading the scoreboards on most of the maps they play, and his form is incredible. ‘flameZ’ is the second star and the second after ‘ZywOo’ statistically. ‘ropz’ is getting used to his new team but already performing well as he should. Overall, they seem prepared enough to fight for this trophy.

TheMongolZ

As you might know from our previous prediction, we didn’t believe in TheMongolZ getting this far and past Eternal Fire, but they have proven us wrong. They showed great team chemistry and that they won’t give up no matter what in a close second map against Eternal Fire, which ended up in overtime with a score of 22-18 in favor of TheMongolZ. ‘bLitz’ is not only their in-game leader, but in a quarterfinal match against Eternal Fire he was leading the scoreboards and motivating his team not only with words but with action as well. ‘910’ showed us a good performance as a team sniper, and ‘Techno4K’ was there to clutch when the team needed him.

Match Prediction

Eternal Fire is one thing, and Vitality is a different beast. TheMongolZ, even though they won the series with a score of 2-0 against Eternal Fire, TheMongolZ were leading at first and couldn’t close a map before overtime. Mistakes like this will be hard to overcome against a more experienced team like Vitality. For those reasons, we expect Vitality to win this match.

Can a young team with less experience win against one of the best teams in the world at the semi-final, or will it be Vitality and ‘ZywOo’ to make it his show? We will have to see it this Saturday at 15:45 CET!
