Astralis has announced that Nicolai “dev1ce” Reedtz and Emil “Magisk” Reif will leave the team as it starts a roster reset for the 2026 season. Their departures close another chapter for the well-known Danish CS2 team, which now plans to look beyond its usual Danish lineup as it builds for the future.

    dev1ce Set to Move On

    Nicolai “dev1ce” Reedtz

Astralis has confirmed that dev1ce will leave the team via transfer, signaling the conclusion of his second stint with the organization. dev1ce returned to Astralis in late 2022 after a period with Ninjas in Pyjamas, helping guide the roster to deep runs at prominent events, including the PGL Astana and FISSURE Playground 1, and securing Astralis’ first Major qualification in three years.

In Astralis’ statement, dev1ce said the decision was not easy but shows his wish for a new challenge. He leaves “on good terms” and wished his former teammates the best.

Earlier reports say dev1ce is expected to join the new 100 Thieves CS2 team, where he would reunite with gla1ve and rain. The roster is focused on experienced leadership and international talent.

Magisk to Exit with Contract Expiry

    Emil “Magisk” Reif

Magisk will leave Astralis when his contract ends at the end of 2025. The experienced rifler returned to the team in September to replace stavn, who left for personal reasons. In this second period with Astralis, Magisk helped the team reach the playoffs at events like FISSURE Playground 2 and IEM Chengdu, and played at the StarLadder Budapest Major before choosing not to renew his contract.

The organization thanked Magisk for joining when needed and recognized him as one of the most successful players in Astralis history.

Astralis In-Game Leader – Rasmus “HooXi” Nielsen

With both veterans leaving, Astralis said it will look at international players instead of only Danish ones. The club’s leaders said they are focused on quality and long-term plans as they prepare for 2026.

    The current active players are:

    • Rasmus “HooXi” Nielsen
    • Victor “Staehr” Staehr
    • Jakob “jabbi” Nygaard

    What This Means for Astralis

The departures of dev1ce and Magisk show that Astralis is going through a big transition. Both are seen as legends of the team and were important during Astralis’ strong CS:GO years. Their exits raise questions about the team’s future in the fast-changing CS2 scene.

For dev1ce, joining an international team like 100 Thieves could be a new start and a chance to revive his career. For Magisk, his next move is still unknown, and fans and experts are guessing where he will go after his short but important return to Astralis. Willingness to consider international talent could reshape one of CS2’s oldest powerhouses, but it also risks diluting the historically Danish identity that has defined the brand for years.

With the transfer window now open and recruitment starting, the CS2 community will be watching to see how Astralis rebuilds and if it can return to top form in the global scene.
