The BLAST Slam VI group stage came to an end and we know the names of every team that advanced to the Last Chance Playoff, Play-In, and the Playoffs. Some results surprised us more than others, so let’s go through some of the more important results.
BLAST Slam VI Group Stage – Results
After the end of the Group Stage, the results look as follows:
- Natus Vincere
- OG
- Team Liquid
- Tundra Esports
- Team Yandex
- Team Falcons
- Xtreme Gaming
- Team Spirit
- HEROIC
- GamerLegion
- MOUZ
- REKONIX
It’s probably not surprising that Tundra Esports performed better than most other teams. The squad was among the favorites but failed to secure a top-2 placement.
Speaking of favorites, Team Falcons surprised me in a negative way. Even though the team saved itself from elimination, it lost a lot more series than we thought. It will be interesting to see whether it steps up its game in the next stage of the event.
Two teams surprised us a lot with their results – OG and Natus Vincere. Both finished the BLAST Slam VI Group Stage with 7 wins and 4 losses and shared the first two spots. It’s been a while since we’ve seen them among the best (in the case of Na’Vi – a full eternity), so we can’t wait to see what they’ll do in the future.
Sadly, some Dota 2 teams did not live up to their fans’ expectations and will have to play in the Last Chance Playoffs. MOUZ is probably the biggest disappointment, especially after winning PGL Wallachia Season 6 just a few months ago. As for REKONIX, most Dota 2 fans were not surprised they ended here because this was the team’s first big event. Aside from these two, GamerLegion and HEROIC were the other two that failed to impress with their results.
BLAST Slam VI – Play-In Schedule
Now that the group stage is over, we have some details about the upcoming Play-In matches. Here’s what we expect to see:
- HEROIC vs REKONIX – Last Chance Playoffs
- GamerLegion vs MOUZ – Last Chance Playoffs
- Team Yandex vs Team Spirit – Play-In
- Team Falcons vs Xtreme Gaming – Play-In
OG and Natus Vincere are the only two teams that have escaped this stage of the event. They have qualified for the Semifinals and will wait for their opponents. The next couple of days will be very interesting, so we highly recommend following us for more details. Expect to find predictions for some of the more intriguing clashes
