It seems like Gaimin Gladiators will play at IEM Cologne Major without one of their players, Joao “felps” Vasconcellos. This means that the squad will have to rely on a stand-in for one of the biggest CS2 events.
Felps’ Contract with Gaimin Gladiators was Terminated
It’s safe to say that this decision surprised everyone, especially people who were looking forward to seeing GG’s full squad at the upcoming Major. The announcement was sudden and it means that felps’s 6-month stint with the team has come to an end. What’s even more surprising is that GG did not give any answers as to why it has made this decision.
What’s important to know is that the news came out shortly after Dust2.com.br said that Gaimin Gladiators will work alongside Fernando “fer” Alvarenga. It seems like the veteran will replace felps on the roster and will do what he can to help GG.
Speaking of felps, the player became a part of Gaimin Gladiators in November of 2025. The player had the task of replacing Bruno “b4rtiN” Camara and has helped him in many different matches. In fact, many would say he is among the main reasons the team won the ECL South America Finals. He even had a crucial role in GG’s successful qualification for the IEM Cologne Major, which will begin soon.
Now that he is gone, Gaimin Gladiators’ roster looks like the following:
- Henrique “HEN1” Teles
- Gabriel “NEKIZ” Schenato
- Jhonatan “JOTA” Willian
- Luca “Luken” Nadotti
- Joao “horvy” Horvath (the coach)
We at Blix.gg will definitely follow the upcoming Major and share everything you need to know. Even though Gaimin Gladiators are not one of the big favorites, the team definitely has its chances and it will be interesting to see their results.
