Savelii “jmqa” Bragin received an interim suspension from the Esports Integrity Commission (ESIC). This comes after a pending investigation regarding potential breaches of the ESIC Anti-Corruption Code.
ESIC Suspends Jmqa
The decision for the Russian player’s suspension comes after a screenshot that surfaced on X. Rasmus “Pihl” Pihl revealed that the Russian player approached him on Discord and tried to offer him to throw the specific matches.
Needless to say, the screenshot quickly became viral, and ESIC was quick to react. According to them, the material reveals direct communication between the two, in which it is clear that one player is trying to convince the other to break the rules.
ESIC launched an investigation, but before we got the chance to learn the final result, the authority decided to suspend JMAQ. According to it, the idea is to make sure that everything is investigated thoroughly and it is NOT a final determination of guilt.
Speaking of the Russian player, most people will remember him for his time at the Quantum Bellator Fire. He was an important team member in 2018 and helped the team achieve fairly good results, including a quarter-final at ELEAGUE Major 2018.
An interesting fact is that jmqa has not had a team since 2021. In fact, he has not played in a professional CS2 match for a while now, and if he is really behind the recent scandal, he won’t be doing so anytime soon.
We really hope that the investigation will end soon, so we know all of the details. Considering the screenshots and what happened after that, however, it seems like the answer is closer than we think. Make sure to follow Blix.gg for more information.
