ESL Pro League Season 25 will head over to Saudi Arabia for the first time in its history. The competition will take place in March 2027 and will bring many of the top-tier CS2 teams in the world.
Saudi Arabia to Host ESL Pro League Season 25
According to the official information, the ESL Pro League 25 will be happy to know that the competition will take place in Saudi Arabia. The teams that we will see in action there will be invited after the January VRS. The seeding will come following the February VRS and the event will have 12 global invites. Alongside them, we will also see four invites to the NA, SA, Europe and Asia-Oceania winners of the ESL Challenger League Season 52.
Aside from the fact that one of ESL’s most prestigious tournaments will head to Saudi, the prize pool will be much higher. Based on the information we have, the prize pool will reach $1,250,000, which is $250,000 more than before. The increase will only affect the club share portion, though.
The Previous ESL Pro League Events
ESL’s decision to host the tournament in Saudi Arabia cements the country’s importance in the current esports scene. Before that, the competition was held in Europe, Brazil and the USA. Most people are not surprised that the event will be heading there because Savvy Games Group acquired the ESL FACEIT Group in 2022. As you know, this is a Saudi company.
Following the acquisition, ESL organized the CS2 EWC tournament in Riyadh. In fact, people will see the same tournament this year (between August 12 and 23). We really hope that fans will be able to attend the event, considering the conflict in the Middle East. There is still time left, but considering how things are going, no one can say what’s going to happen.
