paiN announced an interesting roster change by adding Rafael “saffee” Costa. He will be talking the role of an AWPer from Lucas “nqz” Soares. The latter will be stepping down from professional play due to personal reasons.
Saffee Joins paiN
The Brazilian CS2 organization surprised its fans by announcing an interesting roster change. It seems like saffee will compete at IEM Atlanta and the CS Asia Championship for paiN. What’s more, he will also be at the IEM Cologne Major, but he will be a substitute.
An interesting fact is that this is not the first time saffee plays for paiN. In fact, the player was a part of the club in 2020 and played there until early 2022. After that, he moved to FURIA and achieved good results, including semi-finals at the Major in Rio.
Following his time with FURIA, he moved to MiBR and played for the club for around two years. Sadly, the results were not that good, so the squad decided to bench him in August of 2025. He has been in that position for 8 months now, but we’re happy to report he is back in action.
After this roster change, paiN’s current team looks like this:
- Vinicius “vsm” Moreira
- Rodrigo “biguzera” Bittencourt
- Guilherme “piriajr” Barbosa
- Rafael “saffee” Costa
- Joao “snow” Vinicius
Lucas “nqz” Soares will remain benched, but we expect him to move to a different club soon. As for paiN’s coach, we will see Henrique “rikz” Waklu.
Overall, paiN’s new draft looks good and it puts the team in a good position before the upcoming tournaments. It’s a shame that we won’t be able to see him at the IEM Cologne Major, but who knows, paiN may decide to give him a chance to shine.
