League of Legends Patch 26.5 is already generating attention just days after the release of LoL Patch 26.4. As part of Riot’s regular balance cycle, the upcoming update is expected to introduce targeted champion buffs and nerfs that could impact both solo queue and professional play.
While the full Patch 26.5 notes have not been released yet, early details shared by Riot developer Matt Leung-Harrison give us a clear preview of the most important changes. Here’s everything we know so far about the League of Legends Patch 26.5 preview, including expected adjustments and meta implications.
LoL Patch 26.5 Changes: Champion Buffs and Nerfs Preview
Just a few days after League of Legends Patch 26.4, we have the first information about the latest patch. According to Matt Leung-Harrison, the ranked WEU test will be delayed for another day. Riot will be playing it safe to land the changes without breaking anything.
In terms of champion changes, the tweet has the following information:
- Volibear – The changes will be targeted at balancing out his AD builds (Riot believes his current state is too good).
- Lillia – Riot will be pulling back on some of the previous changes and bring Lillia’s power level back to the pre-26.4 LoL Patch
- Orianna – The newest changes will reduce the power level of her early laning phase.
- Neeko – Riot will be making the necessary changes to make the champion strong in regular play. Currently, she is a popular pick only in pro games.
- Varus – It seems like Riot believes that Varus was “overbuffed” a while ago, especially when it comes to his Q damage. As a result, the League of Legends Patch 26.5 will revert these changes. He will be receiving some nerfs in pro games as well.
Additional Patch 26.5 Updates: ARAM, Arena & Cosmetics
As with most LoL Patch previews, the information usually focuses only on the upcoming champion changes. Considering what happens with every LoL update, however, we can expect to see the usual ARAM Mayhem, Arena, and cosmetic changes. The latter should be even more interesting than before because spring is arriving soon and Riot may decide to release some special options for it.
