How to Get a Knife
In CS2, there are two ways to obtain a knife or knife skin: trading on trading websites or opening cases.
To buy a knife or skin on a skin trading platform, you should set a target price and use the price filter to see options that fit your budget.
To get a skin or knife from a case, buying the cheapest cases that contain what you are interested in is best. Players should realize they must spend a few hundred dollars before getting what they want.
Knife Preciousness
Everyone knows that knives are expensive, but some people need to realize how expensive they are.
The Factory New Karambit | Case Hardened (Blue Gem) knife skin is worth over $1.5 million, making it the most expensive in CS2. It began its journey in 2016 after being purchased for around $100,000.
Chances of Getting a Knife From Case in CS2
When you open a case, the odds of getting a knife are about 1 in 400. The chance of getting a knife skin in the StatTrak version is approximately 10%.
The rarity level of items in CS2 ranges from Mil-Spec to Exceedingly Rare, with Exceedingly Rare being the rarest skins and items. In most cases, Mil-Spec items fall out when you open a case – this is about 80% of the time. The probability of getting an Exceedingly Rare item is 0.26%.
The number of cases required to get a knife depends on the type of knife and where you buy it. As a rule of thumb, at least two or three cases are required to get a knife.
How to Open a Case in CS2
Players need to play the game to get cases. The cases that can be obtained will be random, but most likely, they will be from the “Active Drop Pool,” and only 1% of the time, they will be something else.
You can also get CS2 cases on the trading floor, and once purchased, they will be in your inventory. The cases can then be sold or opened.
Players need a key to open the cases in their inventory. The key needs a unique key – just for this type of case, they can also be bought.

Various case types, such as Chroma and Spectrum, feature unique weapons, skins, and in-game bonuses. Any of those (alongside the Falchion case) may be considered the best case to open in CS2 for a knife.
