Questions about ranks and advancement can be found on Reddit, where more experienced players explain how the system works. We have written this ranking guide to explain all the details.

Although the game is designed for mobile, many people install it on their computers. We have created a guide for this: How to Download COD Mobile on PC.

    Overview of COD Mobile Ranks

    What Are COD Mobile Ranks?

Rank measures your skills in the game and the level of play you have achieved. The more skill you have in the game and the better you play, the higher your rank. You must battle other players and earn enough points to advance. Achieving a new rank leads to obtaining in-game items.

Importance of Ranking in COD Mobile

The ranking system is crucial because it matches players of similar levels as you advance in rank.

Playing in the Legendary rank ensures you compete with players of similar skill level, rather than dominating newcomers who have yet to master the game’s strategies and subtleties.

    CoD Mobile Rank Distribution Explained

    COD Mobile Ranks

There are seven different ranks in total. Here are all the CoD Mobile ranks in order:

    • Rookie
    • Veteran
    • Elite
    • Pro
    • Master
    • Grandmaster
    • Legendary

All ranks except Master and above have a sub-division from I to V, such as Rookie III or Rookie I. Below you will find a table with the point requirements for rank advancement in Call of Duty: Mobile:

    RankRequired Points
    Rookie I0-200

    Points Required to Rank Up

Once you reach the Legendary rank, the points system will remain, but the game will additionally have a Top 5000 leaderboard.

You lose or gain points depending on your performance in the game: a certain number of points are awarded/subtracted for wins or losses, kills, and other actions.

    COD Mobile Rating Mode Rules

    Normal Kill

    Points and Progression

There are differences in how points are distributed depending on your rank and game mode: Standard Multiplayer or Battle Royale.

    Standard Multiplayer

    Game Modes:
    • Team Deathmatch
    • Domination
    • Hardpoint
    • Search & Destroy
    • Payout Search & Destroy (S4 Limited)

Beginners start with Team Deathmatch and unlock other modes as they increase in rank. Each game uses a random map.

The total number of points depends on your performance in the match (kills, etc.), results (wins/losses), and win streaks.

Players under Elite I can’t lose progress. It is also good to remember that leaving a match results in a temporary ban and losing points.

For players ranging from Rookie to Pro, the rank gap in a match can be up to two ranks higher than their own. However, for players at Master rank and above, the rank gap in a squad-ranked game is limited to only one rank higher than their current rank.

The last person to hit an enemy will get 100 points for a normal kill.

    Minor Assist

If you deal significant damage to an enemy, you get 50 points, but if someone else inflicts extra damage, and in case your damage dealt is low, then you get only 20 points. The exact values may differ.

You also have the opportunity to get bonus points for multiple kills – killing numerous enemies in a row, and the traditional kill streak.

    Multi-Kill & Special Kill Bonuses

Players earn bonus XP and medals for pulling off multi-kills or stylish eliminations, like clearing a group with a grenade or taking down enemies in rapid succession.

    Scorestreak Rewards

Unlike time-sensitive combos, Scorestreaks in CoD: Mobile are earned by accumulating points through kills, assists, and objectives. These streaks reset upon death — unless the player equips the Persistence perk, which lets them retain progress at the cost of higher score requirements. Skilled players are rewarded not just with bonus points but powerful streaks like UAVs, Predator Missiles, and VTOLs.

    Battle Royale

In Battle Royale, things are a bit simpler. The amount of points you earn will depend on the number of kills, how long you’ve survived in the arena, and your rank.

Here, players below Elite I and in multiplayer can not lose progress. But there is an important difference: for quitting a match, you will get points depending on your results up to that point.

How Long Does a Rating Series Last?

We know many players who become confused when the conversation turns to rating sessions and seasons in the game. Let’s divorce these concepts once and for all.

Seasons in COD Mobile usually last between 4 and 6 weeks, but the ranked series lasts 14 weeks.

You will only receive a rank reset at the end of a ranked series, not when the season changes. Throughout the season, ranked series rewards are given out, and players earn a reward each time they reach the appropriate rank.

How Does Rank Reset Work in Call of Duty Mobile?

Each season starts with you losing a few ranks. That’s where you’ll find yourself, depending on your rank level in the previous season, before zeroing out:

Previous rankRank at the beginning of the following rating series
    Legendary/Grandmaster/MasterPro I
    Pro VVeteran V
    Pro III-IVVeteran IV
    Pro I-IIVeteran III
    Elite IV-VVeteran II
    Elite II-III Veteran I
Veteran V to Elite IRookie V
    Veteran III-IVRookie III
    Veteran I-IIRookie II
    Rookie I-VRookie I
    Rank Reset Table

Ranks reset every two months or after every two seasons of the battle pass, known as a ranked series.

Generally, higher-ranked players are dropped more often than lower-ranked players because the system wants to bring everyone closer together at the beginning of each season. While this may seem unfair, it ensures fair competition and that just a few players do not dominate the game.

    COD: Mobile Rank Rewards

Leveling up in COD Mobile is quite enjoyable. As you progress through the ranks, you earn various exciting cosmetic rewards, such as skins, emotes, calling cards, and more. The best part? You can showcase these rewards in-game, allowing everyone to see your ranking.

These rewards are permanent, so even if you slip down a bit and lose your rank, those skins and stuff stay in your inventory. It’s a great way to show off your progress without worries!

Tips and Strategies to Rank Up Faster in COD Mobile

There are so many tips for beginners on Reddit. You can check it out for yourself or read it from us.

    Bonus Experience Points in CODM

    Multiple-select bonus

You can rank up faster in COD in several ways. One way is the multiple-select bonus, which gives you a bonus experience when choosing more than one game mode in the standard multiplayer mode. The more game modes you choose, the more bonus experience you get.

Another bonus is the daily first-win bonus. Each day is different, so check what conditions you must fulfill to activate them. To join a clan, you will get a clan bonus.

    Effective Gameplay Tips

    Play with the Squad

Playing with friends is not only fun, but in CODM it’s also rewarding. Playing in ranked matches with people who may be more experienced or have your back can earn you more experience and points. Besides, communication with friends is always better than with strangers.

    Participate in Double Experience Events

Don’t throw tomatoes at me – yes, it doesn’t happen very often, but sometimes CODM runs double experience events during or at the end of the season. Participating in these events allows you to double the experience you earn during matches, giving you a quick boost in rank. So don’t miss the opportunity to unlock a particular season’s reward when it arises.

    Play on Preferred Map

Logical advice, we think. There are plenty of maps in every multiplayer mode in CoDM, but in ranked matches, it’s better to focus on the ones you’ve played most of your games on and have memorized how things work. This will give you an edge over your opponent and help you stay calm in familiar surroundings.

    Choose Appropriate Loadouts

It makes sense here, too. Choosing the right equipment is one of the most straightforward but most important steps towards faster ranking success.

Before making this decision, familiarize yourself with the map and critically analyze your strengths and strategies. We have a guide with gear tips and separate articles on weapons: How to Build the Best Loadouts in CODM: Tips and Tricks.

Also, pick up a few tips to better understand the game and advance through the ranks faster:

Learn and utilize the different movement mechanics available. Sliding, dolphin diving, jumping, and mantling allow you to move quickly and avoid becoming an easy target. Also, find a weapon you are comfortable playing with – this is crucial.

We have a guide to the best guns for COD Mobile: What Is The Best Gun In COD Mobile 2025.

Use the mini-map to track your enemies’ locations and points of appearance. This gives you a serious tactical advantage.

Know when to use fragmentation grenades for breakout groups and when to use Molotovs to block off areas. Use smoke grenades as mobile cover to advance and achieve objectives.

Study maps side-by-side, including high-traffic areas, long-range visibility, elevations, and routes. This extensive knowledge helps with navigation and strategy.

    Common Mistakes to Avoid

While new players make quite a few mistakes, here are some of the most common ones:

They were getting far away from their team. This means almost certain death, as no one will be able to help you, and any indiscretion will be fatal.

The second mistake is forgetting the high ground. Being on high ground gives you superior sight lines and an overall superior position, and it is much harder for the enemy to get to you and kill you.

Poor positioning and speaking at the same angle only make it worse. As we have already recommended, learn to move and strategize. Don’t look out from behind cover from the same side. Look for different opportunities.

The last mistake is Hard Peeking. Peeking half a meter from the cover to hit your opponent is a bad strategy. To benefit from this action, it would help to learn how to do it correctly.
