Alexander 'br0' Bro is stepping down from the team, and 'cadiaN' will now take on the role of rifler and in-game leader. Meanwhile, Nicolai 'device' Reedtz will return to his former position as the team's star AWPer.
In a surprising turn of events, 'cadiaN' has reunited with Martin 'stavn' Lund and Jakob 'jabbi' Nygaard, less than a year after the trio's public split from HEROIC. The split was initiated by 'stavn' and 'jabbi', who expressed their unwillingness to play with 'cadiaN'.
The recent move signifies that 'device', a nine-time top 20 player of the year, has transitioned to in-game leadership for seven months. Initially, this change improved Astralis's results, but the team's rankings declined after the summer break.
After underperforming and being eliminated in the group stages at IEM Cologne and ESL Pro League, 'device' expressed his disappointment with his leadership and AWPing abilities on Twitter. Shortly after, 'cadiaN' was announced as the new team captain. The revamped lineup's debut is set to take place at the BLAST Fall Final in Copenhagen, where they will face off against Vitality on home turf.
The focus then shifts to the Shanghai RMR, where Astralis is striving to secure their spot in the Major for the first time since Antwerp's Challenger Stage in 2022.
